Hemroid!!

I have a hemroid!! It is so painful!

I am 21 weeks pregnent, and my hemroid appeared on Thursday night.

I have done everyting to try to get rid of it. I went to the doctors today, she prescibed me some ointment. She said, if it did not help within a few days that I will have to have it removed:(

Has anyone been through this?

Has anyone got theres removed? how much did it hurt?

Thanks so much!!

Re: Hemroid!!

  • I've never heard of any ointment to clear them up, just soothe. Unfortunately you have to keep applying the ointment so they don't burn or itch. You don't want to get them removed during pregnancy because its likely you'll get more during labor. I have them, still do after 4 years, they just aren't inflamed anymore. You don't HAVE to get them removed. I think you can either get them banded or surgically removed.

A nurse after delivery tried to shove them back in, that was terribly painful.

  • I have not but I've heard from one of my doctors that removing it is quite painful and has no guarantee that it won't return. :(

  • I treated mine by soothing with Tucks pads and A&D ointment, wipe with wet wipes when I go (like the Cottonelle wipes), drank a glass of OJ with Miralax every day.

The inflamation went down within three days and I haven't had a flare up since.
  • I think I had one last week, but an internal.  It was super super itchy.  But I couldn't feel anything and was too embarassed to have DH look Embarrassed  Went away after a few days though

  • I know people that have had then removed bur mid pregnancy is not the time to do so. You will probably get then again. And if you don't in the next 19 weeks then pushing the baby will probably do the trick. Wait till after delivery and then you can go take action. And please, try to spell better because all the mistakes made it really hard to get through your post without cringing.

Your cringing!! try being in the amount of pain Im in. Was not to worried about spelling at the time. But thanks for your advice.

  • I have pushed a baby out of my vagina. I got a tear and hemorrhoids (correct spelling btw!). Yes, I would say I have been MORE than in your pain but thanks for putting it into perspective. Pain did not make me writing impaired and English is not even my language. I didn't know people spelled from their butt but I should have figured.

We dont need to get nasty. I not saying you have not experienced this pain, but mine is at this very moment. I was being sincere when I said thanks for the advice( I'm going to wait the 19 weeks).

  • right now my dh is going through a thrombosed hemorrhoid and we were getting kinda worried about it since it was extremely painful and i asked my step mom who has had 7 children and is a RN in our local ER and she even double checked with the dr. he said just keep it clean and soak in epsom salts and use tucks pads/prep h/otc stuff and it should be fine. i wouldn't get too upset and just know that his has taken a good week to even start to feel better and quit bleeding, but it is starting to get better! (p.s, i can't spell hemorrhoid to save my life i have to look it up every time so don't feel bad....also  i normally am very good at spelling!)

I got hemorrhoids with my first pregnancy and they are a lot worse this time around.  Before I got pregnant with this child, I had blood one morning.  Ofcourse I freaked out and called my family dr.  I went in, they checked and they were just inflamed.  She prescribed me a cream.  Unfortunately there is not a whole lot you can do except live with them.  Yes, they're uncomfortable.  I have also never heard of a dr removing them and there is really no point especially because they will probably get worse when you push out a kid.  I asked my dr about removing them and she said usually that is a last resort.  She said it is very painful to have them removed.  Eat a lot more fiber, drink a lot of water, and use some cream to help with the irritation.

  • I had internal ones after the birth of DS. Now that I'm pregnant again they're back. Sad Never had external ones so I'm not sure about it. I feel your pain, though (literally...lol)
  • Ditto what others have said and don't think about doing anything in regards to removal until after you've recovered from birth.  I never had them until after giving birth, but oh my goodness after two hours plus of pushing I had some serious problems.  Some went away but others are still there and don't bother me at all.  I've thought about removal but have heard what others said, unless they're consistently painful there's no need.
