I'm sorry, but, SERIOUSLY??? You're still considering naming him after that guy? IMO, naming your child after someone would mean that you want them to grow up to be like them. That they are some really GREAT person who you respect and look up to and want them to do the same...
and all of a sudden everything was gone!

Nope, I totally missed it. Dang!
11/2013- Diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis
07/2014- emergency surgery to remove hemorrhaging cyst first RE missed, removed endo from fallopian tubes, hsg done, d&c performed to remove polyphs in uterus, femvue done, put on dexamethasone and metformin
08/2014- miscarriage, second RE refuses to mark down in charts, switch again
03/2016- IUI #1, waiting for results on April 17

She just said that DH was in prison for something he knew if he did it, that he could go to prison for and he did it anyway. Needless to say, so far he has been nothing but a sperm donor and she's not even sure why she should care what DH or his family thinks at this point.

I was under the impression that this board wasn't for judging people.I did make a mistake,but that was in thinking that you girls could be supportive.What happened to if you don't have anything nice to say,don't say it at all? Do you think that for one second that I planned for him to be a complete moron and get himself locked up? I didn't know that he was that kind of person. Everyone makes mistakes,some not quite as monumental,but it's not like I'm the one that broke the law.And most of the people that commented on my post honestly shocked me with the things they said.I felt like I was in Elementary school getting bullied.So yes,I deleted it.Not because I felt like I had mistakingly told you guys something personal about my life (because honestly,I thought that was excepted here) but because I felt like most of the girls that replied were just being absurdly mean to me because of my opinions.

Really? Not only is that childish,it's against the rules.
I don't think most of us are judging you. But, honestly, why would you name your child after someone like that? Mistakes are one thing. But, knowingly naming your child after someone who makes choices that put them in prison can't possibly be considered a mistake because you're putting a lot of forethought into it. I've been with jerks before. I know that sometimes you don't realize how bad someone is until it's too late. But, in that case, why even CONSIDER naming your child after him?
It is childish, and against the rules, that is why I said hehe.

DD-ing is just lame. People do take the time to respond. Not everyone is going to be mean. Some people offer advice and support.
Just don't DD. Take the lumps and move on. DD-ing just looks like you saying in a 6 year old voice, "You're a bunch of meany-heads! I'm taking my ball and going home."

Parents can be blind. Not all of them, but, some. This doesn't mean that you're obligated to do what they want you to do. I mean, honestly, even if I liked my DH's name and fully intended to name our child after him, if he did something to get himself landed in jail/prison/whatever, I wouldn't name my child after him. I would be the first to file divorce papers to avoid my child having the same first OR last name as someone like that.

Completely unrelated to the main subject of this post: Prison is generally for greater offenses (such as grand theft), while Jail is reserved for minor offenses (such as unpaid parking tickets). But both terms are commonly used interchangeably.
