hypnobirthing

hey ladies - I know there were a few ladies doing this either self-study or in courses - and I'm wondering what books you ordered? I'm a bit confused if it is just the Mongan Method book w/cd - or are there other materials? I'd actually like to order it today if anyone has ideas!

also, I'm open to other cds re: relaxation techniques, etc. if anyone has other recommendations.

Thank you!

Re: hypnobirthing

  • I ordered the Hypnobabies home study course, but have only read the introductory material so far. A colleague recommended Hypnobabies.

  • I also ordered the Hypnobabies home study course. Comes with the reading material, workbook and the CDs for listening to every day. A couple of my friends had wonderful birthing experiences with Hypnobabies, so I took their recommendation!

This is what I have too.  I've read through the introduction and first chapter.  I realized I wanted DH to read/hear it all with me, so I'm waiting until we can get together to do it.  Hopefully it's this week!

  • "Hypnobirthing" generally means the Mongan method. As far as I know, they don't make home-study CDs. Hypnobabies was developed by a former Hypnobirthing teacher, and that's the one that you can order the CDs or mp3s for. That's the one I'm doing. I haven't started it yet, but I'm excited!

They have a link on their page to a free track you can listen to to get a feel for the relaxation techniques. The track is called "Relax Me" - https://www.hypnobabies.com/mylink.php?id=4058#2freemp3
