Girl name help

We found out yesterday that we are having a girl and we are totally clueless on names. There aren't any we both really like other than Hannah, but we don't want to use it because it's too popular. Any suggestions? Want to list your favorite girl names? Anything would help Big Smile

I personally don't know a Hannah, other than a childhood friend. But, it's in the top 20 on the SS list, and something like #3 in my state so DH says it's out.

I love a lot of the names suggested - Emerson & Kara are two of my favorites, but DH shoots them down. The name we used to love was Caroline, but I know 3 people recently who have named their daughter that, and the nn Kara is what we would have called her, and my BFF up home just had a little girl and named her Kara.

I like Hannah too. I only know one Hannah IRL, there is one in Eli's daycare class. Oh wait, I went to HS with a Hannah, so I know 2. It's hard to look at the SS list, even the state one, because it's really all so regional.

I love Emerson, it's my #1, but DH doesn't like it at all. And I love Kara, and so does he, but I just worry about people calling her CAR-a, instead of CARE-a like we like. So IDK, but if we used it, it would be her full name, not a NN.

Caroline is really popular around here, that's for sure

When I think of a name, the first thing I do is check the list at Eli's daycare to see if there are any. I mean, these are the kids he'll be going to school with. And I ask MIL, because she's a 4th grade teacher at the elementary school in our district. So those are 2 good indicators for how popular a name really is 'round here. It's a good starting place anyway.

Elijah is pretty high on the SS list, but we've run across very few IRL. Unfortunately, one of them is in his daycare class. Oh well

Caroline was definitely going to be one of my suggestions. I love that name, but we can't use it b/c of another family member (one that we actually know!).

I absolutely love the Name Emerson....I always have and everytime I tell someone they say they have never heard it...now i'm happy to know i'm not alone. Although, sadly DH hates it

I dont see whats wrong with Hannah if you both like it but here is my girl names:
