Proactiv? Face Wash? What can I use for acne?

When should stop using Proactiv? My husband and I are going to start TTC in May/Junish and I use Proactiv. I have hormonal acne (I breakout during my period) and my BC pill really helps with this, but I just stopped taking it. I know I can't use Proactiv during pregnancy but when should I stop using it? Also are there any anti-acne face washes that I CAN use during pregnancy? Comments? Suggestions?

    I'd keep using it until you get a BFP. Your skin can change a lot when KU due to all of the hormones, so you will likely need to change your skin care routine anyways.

    ETA: I used clinique before I got KU and am still using it. I stopped using the emergency spot treatment (salicylic acid) and I haven't really needed it. I did get an exfoliating scrub for whenever I notice breakouts starting though. Other than that, I'm using the same soap, toner, and moisturizer that I was using pre-pg.

    Stop using it when you get a positive test.  Clean and Clear makes a face wash that comes in a purple tube that uses Benzoyl Peroxide instead of salicylic acid which is safe.  There are some more expensive brands that you can get that use glycolic acid that are also safe.

    Proactive has benzoyl peroxide.  How is that different from Clean and Clear?

    I don't think you need to worry about your face wash before you get that BFP. Then ask your Ob what they consider pregnancy safe, different Drs have different opinions. I would try a product with tea tree oil in it.

    I use the Bare Minerals Blemish Treatment to treat any breakouts.  I've had really good luck with it.  It's spendy, but a little goes a long way.

    I used a wash with salicylic acid in it throughout my pregnancy.  I didn't use any topical treatments that you leave on, and if you are taking it orally, you'll want to stop that once you get pregnant as well.
