NBR: Our first house...

in Cincinnati Babies
...is back on the market (2.5 years later). Would it be strange if I go to the open house? I want to call Doug Wilson and bring him and the camera crews along with me. From the pictures, I'm already judging their style and patting myself on the back for doing a better job. Stick out tongue

    I'd go! My mom used to go to all the open houses in her neighborhood... So I can't see that you going to your first house's open house is any weirder than that :)

    HA! Actually, they don't have an open house listed, right now; however, I'm sure they'll have one in the next few weeks (if their realtor is worth a darn, anyway).

    We use to go to all the open house's in our neighborhood, until one day.... We decided to hit up the open house around the corner from us after church. So.. we get there, and my DH walks in the house 1st and I'm behind him. He stops to let a man and his daughter out, then we proceed in. The house was set up odd, you went in through the front door and you were in the kitchen. A woman is sitting at the kitchen table, we say hi and walk in. I notice she is looking at us really odd, so I say 'Hi..Are we early for the open house?" knowing the sign said 12-2 and it was 12:30ish. She said "Omg..The open house was last weekend! I'm getting ready for my daughters bday party---but you can go ahead and walk around" My DH & I are totally shocked...and I say "No--its okay, we will have our realtor set something up." Knowing we arent interested in the house- just being nosey neighbors. I guess thats what you get for leaving the open house sign up.  The people never did sell, we now avoid walking down that street like the plague Embarrassed

    Not weird at all. My mom has never stopped going to open houses, even though they've owned multiple houses, so I think realtors are used to people just wandering through. I'd love to go back to our first house as an open house!

    The house I lived in for 20-some years was put on the market 2 years after my parents sold it.  You better believe I went, and I brought my H to show him where I grew up.  I would go!

    We just bought a house but we went to an open house Sunday for a house in our neighborhood that had that same layout as ours just to be nosy and it was fun. I say go.
