I'm currently watching a news report on this and getting choked up thinking about how helpless I would feel if this happen somewhere I lived and not being able to get in touch with my husband to know whether he's alive or not. I even get choked thinking about my unborn children being lost in all of this. How you have the inability to do this is astounding to me. Hopefully your husband teaches your children compassion and not you.

Instead of being all consumed in your own life and happiness, stop for a second and think about all the people over there that don't have a house to go home to now and are missing loved ones. I feel sorry for you and your ignorance. You may not care about the loss of human life--or be bored by hearing about what is happening, but anyone who claims to be a "green mama," would at the very least be concerned about the fact that nuclear plants over in Japan are in danger and have been severely damaged. If you "care" about our environment, you could find some interest in that story.

I think 7 pages of being flamed so far says it all, whether you have family in the affected areas at all you should still have a little empathy. I mean have you not seen the footage, it made me sick. Think of all the hundreds of people that are suffering right now, I don't think what you said is okay at all but I would suggest maybe next time giving it more than a day to complain. What a horrific thing to say on a day when everyone is mourning and praying for the best.

As someone who was evacuated at 3:30 am with literally NO information on when we were to be hit or how big it would be or where it was coming from and literally going through pure fear to get my family out of the tsunami zone, OP, you infuriate me and I am sickened that people like you exist in the world.

From what I have read all US troops in Japan are safe and accounted for. No military bases have been damaged either. Hope this brings good news to some.
