I posted last week about my little man failing the metabolic part of his newborn screening. He tested positive for MCAD, a genetic metabolic disease that meant we were having to set a clock to feed him every 3 hours no matter what as his body can't get calories from stored nutrients, he only gets it from food. He was retested last Friday in hopes of a false positive and the MD called tonight and confirmed it was indeed a false positive! My DH and I are so happy! We had come to terms with the fact that it could have been a lot worse but we are so happy that he doesn't have it at all! All the prayers and good thoughts for my little guy really helped. Thanks be to God for such wonderful news tonight!
Praying this little one sticks!

We had the same thing happen! Failed first screen, passed the second. They brought us back in for genetic testing and found a few abnormalities in his genes, but said none of them are proven to be any sort of problem so he should be healthy and fine! We still go back to Children's twice a year for awhile just to be safe and also have a emergency room letter to bring to the hospital so he can have certain fluids just to play it safe in a traumatic situation where he won't be able to eat for a sustained period of time.
