I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're probably living under a rock somewhere and haven't seen any of the horrific pictures.
My cousin's wife's family lives in Japan. I know she must be losing her mind right now not knowing if her ENTIRE family is alive!
I also know a tonne of people who live on the BC coast and all the way down to the California coast, tsunami warnings are real, too! It's scary to think that your life may or may not get swept away!
You are a heartless human being.
But maybe to someone here it does. And honestly I don't know how this is less important than when two girls get into a chick fight and one goes too far. Everyone who reports that person wasn't personally attacked. It's just between the two of them.
OP, you are really sad. We have two nephews living with their father, a Marine, stationed in Japan. They live right outside one of the areas hardest hit and no has heard anything from them or their father to confirm their well being. Whether you care about this or not, it's only a matter of respect and kindness to be a little empathetic to those of us who are affected.

Sorry, to jump in on a board I'm not a part of, but I gotta say--I am very grateful for people on FB posting about the earthquake as that is how I've found out really quickly that friends (with their children) in Nagoya, Japan were okay after all three of the earthquakes that have happened there in the past few weeks, including today.
But, hey, maybe OP has a point...these things are in the news too much--this was only an 8.9 magnitude earthquake...only in the top ten most powerful earthquakes on record...only followed by tsunamis that measured up to 23 feet...not to mention all the other countries affected by the waves spreading across the Pacific...maybe they are making a big deal over nothing...the media should really find something of major importance to report on. She is soooo compassionate after all--she cared about the hundreds of thousands of people who died in Haiti and the million+ who were left homeless...that is she cared for a whole week before she got "tired of it".
You are a small, small person OP. I hope if tragedy strikes you again people have more compassion on you and your child than you have for others.
Oh man, you lost your house and your dog? I just saw a lady on the news who lost her house and had her children literally SWEPT OUT OF HER ARMS by a terrifying wall of water that was filled with debris and dead bodies. Wow, as someone who also lost their home from Charlie, I am disgusted with you. The devastation that Charlie did to us isn't anywhere near the level of devastation that happened in Japan. It's just not comparable.
