Re: Beta #4=Not Good
72 hours for less is what most drs say. Maybe you are just worried so you misinterpreted her as being super downer about it. Number sounds fine to me, my dr didnt do betas that long for this exact reason.
Just relax.... You are going to do more hurt than good by obsessing and over-worrying like this.
I'm sorry sweetie... hopefully all is still OK! My RE still told me that they're going to draw labs, but that once we start u/s , the u/s tells more than betas b/c doubling times change for everyone and start to slow down after 1200 and 4000..I may ask them to stop giving me the numbers so I have less to obsess about.
Try and enjoy your time away (I know easier said than done)
Huge hugs Patchen!
My old clinc told me once betas reach 5000, they slow in doubling. Even 96 hrs was an acceptable double time when HCG gets that high.
I was also in FLA when i was in beta hell, and it's hard. But nothing u can do will change the outcome of ur pregnancy. So try to enjoy some time with ur DH. I know, it;s so hard.
This.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Hopefully the nurse was just being matter of fact which may have come off as doomsday. My RE's office would have considered that a perfectly acceptable rise especially at the stage that you are. That with your u/s this morning seems as if things are still OK.
Though it doesn't make it easier to have yet another wait until the next u/s, your progress will not be affected by allowing yourself to have a great time on your vacation. Try to enjoy the days with your DH, and hold the next round of worry until next week.

Lurking from SAIF...
Remember this?
Listen to your RE and not the nurse. Plus, you're still doubling within 72 hours, which is great! I really, truly think your numbers sound fine. Hang in there! Try to enjoy your time in Florida.
I hear a lot of nurses being all doomsday for people....that sucks! Most of the cases I've heard like that (where the nurse is a jerk), everything ends up fine. I agree with previous posters...I don't think you have anything to worry about with your betas. I think you had a fine rise, and your betas are just slowing down (like they are supposed to).
Here is how my betas went (doubling times listed):
182 - 697 = 37.17 hours
697 - 3075 = 44.83
3075 - 8680 = 48.09
8680 - 20710 = 76.52
Try to enjoy your vacation. *hugs*
Edited to add - This is when my betas were done, also.
1 - 4w
2 - 4w3d
3 - 5w
4 - 5w3d
5 - 6w

Sweetie, your nurse is nuts.
That is a GREAT beta. That is a PERFECT rise. When you get to the 6w mark they are supposed to double every 3-4 days, it slows down.
Honestly, at the stage of pregnancy that you are at, betas are not as reliable as ultrasound. You've had a great ultrasound that showed a sac and fetal pole exactly as it should be.
I know it's scary but you really need to focus on that. You are pregnant!!!!
Your beta doubling time is 66.7%. The new minimum standard that my RE office is now using is 53%. I am not exactly sure what the name of the article is, but it was published in the New England Journal of Medicine recently. 66% is an old standard, but your doubling time is still higher than that.
My first beta's doubling time was 70%. It then went up to 80%, and then back down to 77% before we were able to see a heart beat. At that point, the RE said that the beta's don't matter anymore, and I was released to an Ob.
I know that beta hell can be a horrible time, but honestly your first beta doubling time isn't that far off from mine, and you are beating the new minimum standard by a decent amount. Please try to relax and have a good vacation. When I was going through beta hell, I just kept telling myself that "Today I am pregnant, and I love my baby." I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Please keep us posted.
Now we're waiting on our miracle baby ... a little GIRL!!!
My RE didnt even take any after 16dpiui and it was 584... I am a week ahead of you and didnt have it drawn at my u/s either.
We are all trying to tell you to have a good time, it is out of your hands either way at this point, so there is no sense in fretting. Enjoy this moment. You will never have it back and you need happy vibes for you cutie little fetus growing in there!!
iui #5 2/7 + 2/8 = BFP!! 11 dpiui
Beta #1 2/18 11dpiui= 46, Beta #2 13dpiui 150, Beta #3 16dpiui 584!!

Our twins born @36w4d via CS when A came foot first
Thankful for every day
I'm so sorry:( Here you are trying to enjoy a vacation and this happens. As everyone said, they are still getting higher and that is the most important thing. It seems some nurses have a tendency to be matter of fact and less emapthetic than others. My RE's office only did 2 Betas, I am so glad because that alone made me crazy!
I hope everything works out and you can enjoy your week.
sending you lots of T&P.
