You don't care that manypeople have lost loved ones in a tragic earthquake?
I feel bad for those people but, I don't need to see EVERYONE talking about it on FB and pretty much every other website I visit, and I know everyone will be talking about it for weeks to come.

Yes, that is usually what happens after catastrophic events...
Or, is your fffc that something is only catastrophic if it affects you?

would you care if it was happening where you live? i sure hope there is someone else in your family who can teach your child compassion. you clearly have none.

I'm actually very compassionate. My child will not suffer because I don't care to read about tragedies 24/7 but thanks for that concern.

So sorry that tragedy got in the way of your Facebook time.
Right? I'm sure you're missing out on super valuable "if you love your husband and aren't afraid to tell the world" (though isn't that the point of a wedding? But I digress) posts.

are you dumb? you are aware of your initial statement, correct? pretty sure that comment had no compassion for the thousands of people who are suffering whatsoever. if you dont want to read, turn off your fvcking computer and tv. there's a difference between "not caring about what happened" and "not caring to read about it 24/7."

Wow. I am so shocked at this whole post. My child could have suffered. Hundreds of children DID suffer. We were evacuated at 5:30 this morning! It's real. Its not something you just read about on facebook.
Yeah Japan, quit whining. Oh and Hawaii, California, Mexico, South America, Australia, New Zeland, Indonesia, and everywhere else facing tsunamis now. Gah, I'm TRYING to update everyone on my most recent Starbucks trip!

Why don't you tell that to the 20 Japanese foreign exchange students I have sitting in my office that cannot get a hold of their families, and don't know the fate of their loved ones.

Wow.
God forbid people on FB are for once talking about something worth discussing rather than what they had for breakfast.
Is it only worth discussing if it directly affects you or your family?
I find your lack of empathy and insensitivity incredibly disturbing.
As someone whose entire family lives in areas that were directly affected by this (Hawaii, West Coast, and Japan), I'm really appalled that you would say something so insensitive on a public forum.

Wow, I hope they get ahold of their families. My cousin is in South Korea. I am hoping all is good with her too and wonder if she may have felt anything.

Oh wow. That would be hard to have to watch prayers for their families. I hope they get in touch soon! Keep us posted if you can.

Hope everyone is ok.
Yes, thank you, everyone in the U.S. is OK, but we cannot get a hold of the relatives in Japan yet. They live on the opposite side of the island and probably felt the tremors, but weren't affected by the tsunami.

I hope your family is okay. I too have family in Hawaii but luckily they are fine.

So we should just pretend it didn't happen and keep talking about Charlie Sheen? How is that going to help the people that you "feel bad" for?

I think it's pretty scary too.
I'm actually very compassionate. My child will not suffer because I don't care to read about tragedies 24/7 but thanks for that concern.
Word. I'm sure all of the Bejeweled Blitz or Family Fued posts are much more worthy of your news feed.

This FFFC wasn't a good idea, if you haven't figured that out. It's actually pretty offensive. What happened last night was a big fvckin' deal.
Mikaela is going to have a little brother!
Well, looks like someone took their apathetic biitch pills this morning.
I hope you never have to go through a tragedy like that, because people will be saying the same shiit about you.
I find your lack of empathy and insensitivity incredibly disturbing.

I was thinking this, but you beat me to it.
OP, what is your definition of compassion, since it seems to differ from everyone else's definition?
Wow, I hope they get ahold of their families. My cousin is in South Korea. I am hoping all is good with her too and wonder if she may have felt anything.

Really disturbing. Like, Axis II diagnosis distrubing. (For my fellow mental health professionals)
Well aren't you a peach?
You are absolutely pathetic.
Right. How selfish of others to be concerned about worldly matters that affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
OP, you're a tool.
Yes, thank you, everyone in the U.S. is OK, but we cannot get a hold of the relatives in Japan yet. They live on the opposite side of the island and probably felt the tremors, but weren't affected by the tsunami.
Shame on you.
