We would like to use a biblical name (we're Christian).
Here are some of our favorites and their meanings:
Eve (life), Noah (comfort), Adah (witness), Joseph (God adds), Abram (father lifted), Daniel (God is my judge), Eli (ascension), Elizabeth (my God is an oath), Lydia
I love the names Sari and Shana. DH won't use them b/c they're too unusual. So, we're going with Lillian, Layla, or Lilah (some of which have Hebrew origin). If its a boy it'll either be Jacob, Jaron, or Jared with a middle name of Simon -- all of which have Hebrew origin.?
Re: Using a Jewish/Hebrew name - care to share? nft
Sari - cute but would remind me of Suri (And I can't stand Tom and Katie)
Ethan - LOVE. It's one of the names we are considering.
I'm with you on the Sari. I couldn't get there. Have you thought about Sarai (Isn't this how Sarah was spelled when Abraham was Abram?)
LOVE Ethan. It's not on our list though.
We're considering Jesse for a girl. We really want to keep with traditional biblical names.
We were going with Ethan for a boy, I love that name. I totally agree that is has become super popular, but if you like it... go for it.
About Sari - to me it sounds too much like Suri. Not a big fan.
But I like the idea of Hebrew names, the meanings are so powerful.
LOVIN' the name Sarai! Not sure how it would work with our last name. Hmmmmm, I'm adding it to the list.
I also love the name Jonah or Jonas for a boy.
