A really dumb question

But what is the "bump" under my baby in the u/s picture? It's from today's NT scan.

Also, I find it weird and funny that my baby is laying face down. Usually they are positioned a different way, or at least I don't remember seeing many face down like that.

Re: A really dumb question

  • it it possible it's just the angle of the photo making the baby face down....???  I dunno otherwise

That's how the baby was during the live ultrasound too, though. So I don't know.

I could be wrong but my guess is that the baby is laying above the placenta?

this is my only guess too.  They didn't mention anything about the blob at your appt?

No, the tech didn't say a word about it. I wouldn't expect her to though, because she can't really tell me if anything is wrong. I'm going to assume that it's ok for now, unless I hear differently.

  • I have the exact same thing in my u/s pic from my NT scan the the tech said it's a contraction. She said you can't feel them, but they are happening to stretch your uterus. It looked exactly like yours, only mine was above the baby.

My baby was also face down during my NT scan.   No one seemed concerned by that.  I just rotated my pic so I could be like everyone else.
