I did a big "dress up trunk" for A's bday, some store-bought stuff, some old prom dresses from the thrift store hacked into dresses, etc.
I got some great deals at TJMax and Big Lots, and as I suspected, the "value pack" of Jimmy Choo Shoes (lol) from Toys R Us are greatly loved as well.
But the biggest hit? Her purple veil. We went to a church store last month to get something for a cousin's confirmation, and she LOVED LOVED LOVED the veils that were out for 1st Communion. No way was I putting my kid in a white veil, so I got a headband from the dollar store, gathered some purple tulle and glued it on with my hot glue gun. OMG, she fricken LOVES wearing that thing.
and that girl can DANCE in her heels, lemme tell ya! I think I've got a lil' Carrie Bradshaw on my hands! lol.
Re: moms of (girlie-girl) toddlers - PSA about dress-up
Dress up is a big hit at our house too. I usually wait until the week after Halloween and grab every clearance costume there is. Those dang things get used daily. Yesterday one of my little friends was wearing a spiderman costume with a dragon costume over it :-)
Go Ava! Gotta love a girl who can dance in heels!
