?'s re: Amazon.com

I have not joined the Amazon mom thing (or whatever it's called).  Mainly I'm curious about the diaper prices.  Anyone buy PampersSwaddlers or Cruisers on there?  Specifically size 2 or size 4 if anyone has bought those.

BJ's prices are something like $.21 a diaper for size 2 and $.27 a diaper for size 4.  I have it written down at work so I don't have it in front of me.

What are the advantages to joining?

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

  • I am in between your sizes! I have a Size 3 baby and here is the breakdown of why I joined:

Sign up for "Subscribe and Save" feature under Amazon mom for 30% off of diapers. Enrolling in this free program gives you free 2 day shipping on any Amazon order (not just diapers). Then if you have the 20% off coupon from Parents Magazine (or Working Moms or Baby Talk I think are the other two I know of,) you can add that to your discount.

Basically here is the math from my last order:

200 Size 3 Diapers (Pampers Baby Dry) retail: $49.99
    Amazon's online price: $40.88
    20% coupon: -$10
    30% promotion: -$12.88
    free shipping: -$8.18

    Total: $10.44 for 200 diapers!

I love it and wish I would have figured this out sooner. Stick out tongue

  • The advantages of Amazon mom are cheap diapers delivered to your door in 2 days.  I order Pampers Cruisers size 3, and they're $.17 a piece when you use Amazon Mom and "subscribe and save." Size 2 is probably a little cheaper and size 4 a little more expensive per diaper. So it sounds like Amazon Mom's price would beat BJs, plus you'd get free delivery. This is the price without any extra coupons or discounts, which are sometimes available (like the extra 20% off that pp mentioned).

  • I am already an Amazon prime member. Is it still worth it?

ETA: Sorry, I read further on the site and the question was answered! I've signed up, mostly because I never remember to get diapers at the store until we're down ot our last few!

  • I don't know the per diaper price because we only buy disposables every couple of months, but I think it's worth it if you shop Amazon frequently just for the Prime membership! It is sooo nice to be like "Oh! I need more sippies!" and have them at your door, relatively cheap plus free shipping, the next day.

I think it's drastically reduced the time and money I'd otherwise spend at Target. Especially since I can order exactly what I need and don't wander around putting random things in my cart.

    The DC Nest. Winers welcome.

  • I just had a box of size 4 pampers (Baby Dry - not Cruisers) shipped to me for $26 or $27 with the Amazon Mom and Subscribe & Save discounts.  Subscribe & Save is the program where they send you whatever item every X weeks or months, and its a 15% discount on top of Amazon Mom.  The promotional Amazon Prime membership is a nice to have thing, but I really joined for the diaper price.

  • I'm not an Amazon Prime member, but I signed up for Amazon Mom (15%) and Subscribe and Save (15%).

Pampers Swaddlers Dr Max, Size 2-3, 152 count: $29.39 ($.19/dipe)

    Pampers Baby Dry, Size 4, 176 count: $28.62 ($0.16/dipe)

Way cheaper than anything I've found in the stores (with coupons).

  • I didn't realize that you could subscribe and save, so thanks for posting this, I just ordered and saved a bunch of money!
  • I'm a little late on the post but just wanted to respond since I do Pampers Cruisers size 4s currently AND do Amazon mom (15% off) and Subscribe & Save(another 15%off). One of the best parts is that Amazon will tell you right on the website, prior to placing an order, the price per diaper so you have easy comparisons. Anyway, I get a 144 pack of size 4s for $29.25 including Amazon mom and Subscribe & Save which comes out to about 20 cents per diaper. Neither Amazon mom nor Subscribe & Save cost anything. Amazon mom is just Amazon Prime for free essentially and Subscribe & Save is additional discount for subscribing to get a product shipped at X frequency - like once a month - and you can cancel or modify it any time (like to change diaper sizes) plus they email you to confirm before your subscription ships. So we subscribed for 144 size 4 diapers once a month but they check before shipping so I can cancel it and/or change the size. I wouldn't buy diapers any other way since we're happy with Pampers and not trying other brands.
