Crumbs in my bed

Hi ladies!

I never did a formal introduction because I was a nervous lurker who just posts randomly every now and then.  Didn't want to become too attached yet.  However, I thought I'd bite the bullet and just intro already!

I'm Sharon, I'm 38 and expecting numero uno!  Very excited indeed.  Had our first Dr appointment on Feb 14 at around 5 weeks and saw sac and yolk sac (no heartbeat, too early).  Our next appointment is Monday March 14th and I am SO anxious, nervous, excited...you name it.  I am desperate to see a strong little baby and a heartbeat.  I feel like it will be just what I need to relax a bit.  I know it's just hurdle number one, but it's a big one :-)

Started getting nausea around 6 weeks.  Still waking up every stupid morning to saltines and ginger ale.  Ugh.  So tired of crumbs in my bed!  I fine that graham crackers are a good saltine substitute when I just can't bear the pastyness of a dry saltine anymore!  Pizza is my meal of choice nowadays.  Can't really stomach anything else.

Trying to exercise through the complete and utter exhaustion has proven difficult.  Hoping that changes pretty quick given my love of pizza!

Though these boards can sometimes seem like too much information overload (especially the info we don't want to think about), I still feel like it's comforting to be in the company of others who are in the same boat!

Here's to a VERY happy and healthy 9 months!

Re: Crumbs in my bed

  • What a lovely intro!  Congrats and welcome :)

Pizza sounds great.  Hm....(haha I can hardly think of food and dinner planning is non-existent any more) may have to make a phone call on the way home from work!

Exercise is non-existent for me, I put my gym membership on hold until mid-April and hope to GOD by then I can get moving again.

Anyway....thanks again for the nice intro.  Glad to have ya here!

Thank you so much!  And congrats on the twins!  Weeeeee!  So happy for you! I am a photographer and I recently took some newborn pics of my friend's twin boys.  It's just the most amazing wonderful thing.  I think some of their baby juju rubbed off on me because I took the photos Jan9 (the first day of my LMP) and went to visit again (mommy is a hair dresser and cut my hair in return for the baby pics!) just a month later on Feb 9 and I was pregnant!

  • Welcome and congrats!!  I also had an appt at about 5.5 weeks and saw just the sac and yolk sac, but no baby.  I go back next week and I am so excited/nervous to see that heartbeat!  Best of luck to you throughout your pregnancy!

Haha thanks!  Twins were certainly unexpected and will be a challenge but we are blessed beyond belief!  I can't wait to have pics taken with them, I'm a photo whore....haha  Luckily have several good friends who are outstanding photogs!  Gotta love it!  Do you have a website?

  • Congrats and good luck on your next u/s!

Lately I've been waking up pretty nauseous. It then comes and goes throughout the day but right when I wake up it seems worse. This morning DH suggested I eat something to calm my stomach but I ended up being able to fall back asleep. When you mentioned saltine crackers by your bed, I thought about what a good idea that was! I may have to try it next time to see if it settles my stomach.

  • Congratulations!!

Welcome to the board - it's a great place to be :)

And pizza is also one of my meals of choice, I just need to learn how to limit the number of slices :)

I absolutely recommend the 'ol "eat before you get out of bed" trick.  It's the LAST thing I want to do, but in the end it helps.  The sucky part is that I wake up to pee at 7am and then BOOM, I feel nauseous and I have to eat a stupid cracker or 3.  This then wakes me up and then i end up being sleepy around 8:30-9 when i feel "better".  I fall back asleep and then I wake up and start the whole stupid process again.  I don't really feel significantly better till later in the afternoon after I've forced myself to really eat something (other than crackers).

Let's hope this doesn't last much longer, eh? :-)

Thank you!  I'm a 2 slice kinda gal, but these are NY slices which are the equivalent of 4 normal slices.  Ugh! :-)

  • Welcome and congrats!!

Now I want pizza for dinner.  But here, 4 slices are like 1 NY slice, it's quite sad!  I'm from the East coast and miss real pizza!
