I know everyone is different and every multiples pregnancy is different but I'm curious...How tall are you?

People have said "your height will help you"...I am almost 5' 10".

  • I agree that height might help you, but I am only 5'1" and I carried to 37w4d and they both had enough room during the last week to flip flop daily (NOT fun for me).  So you never never know.

  • 5'0. Height doesn't necessarily help.  I had a good twin pregnancy and I am short.  Never had any issues, restrictions or bedrest.

  • I am 5'10 and I totally agree that height helped me out!  Most people would comment that I looked like I was carrying 1 baby and I gained over 40lbs!  I carried my girls to 38w1day and actually had to end up being enduced.  I also was able to avoid a C-section.

  • I'm 5'8 and my doctor says that all the time, that the height is helping with the babies and weight being evenly distributed.
  • 5'2". I think height can help but also having a long torso might be equally important. I would think it would help you to look less big as the babies have more room up and down versus growing outward but whether or not it has a lot to do with how long you carry I am skeptical.
  • I've heard that same thing. I'm 5'9

  • I'm 5'9".  More than one doctor told me I was fortunate to be tall and I really think it helped..  I was able to make it to 34w4d with my triplets and measured over 50 weeks.

5'11". The height didn't help me in that I had PTL issues and was on bedrest for 15 weeks. But I do think it contributed to me not being miserably uncomfortable until just before I delivered (35w1d)

ETA: LIke a p.p. I also think it contributed to me looking smaller than I felt. I was constantly told I didn't look "big enough." It annoyed me at the time b/c I was obsessed with gaining the appropriate amount of weight, but hey.

  • I am 5'4"... my friend who is 4'9" carried her twins until 37.5 weeks.. I don't know how the heck she fit them in her!
  • I'm 5'5, but have a very short torso.  I did look like I was going to tip over.

  • I'm 6'0" -  I think the extra height helped me look smaller and be slightly more comfortable at the end (though I was certainly uncomfortable at times - especially in the summer!).

  • I'm 5'10" - I think the biggest advantage to being tall (or having a long torso) is having more space for the babies up and down rather than out.  People keep telling me how good I look even though I'm measuring about 43 weeks pregnant.

    Edited for spelling

  • 5'7". I have a short torso though so I don't know if it helped.

  • 5'8", and like PPs said- I don't think being shorter means it's going to be hard/you won't go as long, but I do think my longer torso is helping a lot at the end.

  • 5'.  If not for pre-e, I could have carried longer and was never terribly uncomfortable.

I did, however, get lots of comments.  My favorite was, "The fact that you're still standing defies physics."  It was from a co-worker (that I liked) who always said odd/funny things, so it didn't bother me.
