I'm about half way through my second pack of bc pills. I went back on them due to very irregular heavy periods. (Last time I was on the pill was about 3 years ago) and I haven't changed anything in my diet, I've started excersicing (but not enough to effect any muscles yet) and I'm up about 4lbs. I know is not much, but its annoying when I maintined a heatlhy diet to lose all my pregnancy weight and I kept it off for a while.
I'm trying to figure out what could have caused this, and like I said I haven't changed my diet, the only thing I can think of is going back on the pill. I don't remember if it caused weight gain last time, I was on it, I was 18, so I don't really remember.
Thought I'd ask here, if you think that could be a possibility.
Re: Weight gain from bc?
I have heard that hormonal bc can have the side effect of weight gain. However I find it kinda hard to pin it down to that. Normal weight gain can only be caused by an imbalance in your calorie intake. Aka if you eat more calories than you burn then you will gain weight.
However I think hormonal bc can effect our behavior which could lead us to gain weight. I have gained weight in the past while on hormonal bc, but I can't ultimately blame it on the pil, it's because I was eating more than I was burning.
4lbs sounds like a pretty normal fluctuation in weight. Unless you're weighing yourself everyday, at the same time, in a routine then I would guess it could be some water weight and a normal flux in weight. I hope my post doesn't sound harsh, because it's not meant to be. I've struggled with weight my whole life and these are just the facts that I go by.
