Tomorrow night I am teaching a class from 6:30 - 8:30 in Naples (30 miles south of here) so DH will be on his own with M for dinner and bedtime. I won't be home until 9:15 at the earliest and M normally goes to bed around 8. He's put her to bed maybe twice her whole life, after I've fed, changed and swaddled her. She has been having a VERY rough few days recently, with lots of fussing and an unusual amount of inconsolable crying. Well, I can console her, but it takes a lot longer than usual and with a lot more crying. The normal things that have always worked are mostly not working now. Other than some congestion, she seems fine, so I'm not really sure where this is coming from.
Needless to say, both DH and I are pretty worried about how tomorrow night will go. I told him that if push comes to shove, just let her watch TV with him! ugh...darn thing hypnotizes her! Keep your fingers crossed I come home to sleeping baby and a happy DH!
Re: Good luck DH!
Good luck to your DH. Tonight I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and washing the bottles from daycare when DS started crying. DH was holding him and couldn't get him to calm down for about 10 minutes while I finished what I was doing. Finally I took him and got him settled, but it took me a while. I think he was just over tired. I don't know what DH would have done if I wasn't home. He was doing his best and I kind of felt bad for him that he couldn't get DS settled down.
I hope you come home to a happy house tomorrow.
