So good friend calls and says "hey your boss (her daughter and son in law) have to go clean out the house they rent because they evicted their tenants and they didn't take all their stuff, you want to come down and help?"

Sure, why not? I'm not doing anything else and it'll be fun to hang out with all them.

We go down there.

These people have left a pit/lab mix chained up in the back and have a chihuahua and a tiny puppy running round free back there.

I picked up the puppy and she's a bit bloated and completely infested with fleas. She's got sores on her face and ears where she's been scratching at the fleas.

The chihuahua's nails were so long that they had turned under and she was sort of like hopping/walking/running.

The big dog was just so pitiful looking chained up back there and a total sweetheart.

The sheriff's department had to come to witness us taking the stuff out and after awhile asked if we thought we'd be all right if he left. We assured him that if the people did show up the cops would probably need to be called to protect them, not the other way around.

If I didn't have three dogs at home already I would have taken them home with me. As it was I cried a little when the humane society had to come get them.

It is astounding to me that people can treat their animals like that. Heartless fuucks.

What a**holes. Truly. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. Lucky for those animals that there were people like you and your friend there to make sure the right actions were taken.

Heartless doesn't even begin to describe what scum those people are...so sorry you had to see that. I'm adding them to my sh!t list for you...karma will bite them in the ass for those poor dogs.

I will never understand this.

Some guy near here left a bunch of dogs on his property for 2 weeks without checking on them "because I didn't have time". They've been taken in by a local shelter and he's in the pokey.

That's terrible! Karma is a b!tch and I hope she bites them in the @$$ hard!! Thank God you found the dogs when you did , I hope they recover and go to good homes.

I hope to God those people don't have kids... the best thing they probably did for the dogs is leave them behind.

Oh my god.

So we got everything cleared out around 3:30. Boss lady goes over and does some cleaning, puts up no trespassing signs and leaves around 7:30.

She got an phone call from a neighbor that the former tenants were over there throwing stuff we had taken from the house all over the lawn and the street.

I mean come on- why on earth would someone think that is appropriate behavior?

Oh and they have two kids. Stunning really.
