Recommend your fairy tale book

We have a book of the most popular fairy tales (little pigs, princess and the pea, beauty and the beast, etc) but DH and I really dislike it.  The only clear part of any story is that everyone ends up rich and lives happily ever after.  One story even calls girls "dumb".  

Anyway it drives me and DH crazy to read but Parker loves reading them.  Is there a better option out there?  Thanks!

    The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch

    I'd recommend all of his books.  Awesomely funny and they might get your DC off of fairytales.

    Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.

    I was going to suggest the same thing!!

    No fairy tales for my girls. I think they teach the worst lessons (even though I loved them as a LO) :)
