February 2011 Moms

LO slept through the night....

And it totally freaked me out!!

She didn't sleep all the way through OUR night, but slept from 9pm to 4am! The doctor had told us when she was discharged from the NICU in late January to wake her up to eat every 3-4 hours, so DH tried at 12:30am...she wanted none of that...drank 20 ml's and pretty much stayed asleep. Tried again at 2, same deal. She finally woke up on her own at 4. I'm not super concerned about the 3-4 hour thing though because she's going on two months old and is closing in on doubling her birth weight.

Poor DH (who was on duty for all feedings last night) went to bed at 2am though, so he didn't get to enjoy the seven hours of her sleeping.

STM due Feb. 2017!

Re: LO slept through the night....

  • my dd#1 was not a preemie, but I remember her sleeping through the night at 3 weeks of age (we didn't have to wake her up because she had met her birth weight).  I swear I got up every hour and was checking her.  I didn't enjoy the sleep at all!  I got used to it though :)

  • Wow! How exciting!  But I have to admit that I'm a bit jealous!  Our LO is still getting up about every three hours.

Same here... I can't imagine what six hours of uninterrupted sleep is like! ;)

  • My four year old doesn't sleep through the night. Crying My DS sleeps through 3-4 nights a week, but that only started a few months ago. Crying I kind of hate you right now.

  • How awesome!  Enjoy it!  DD slept from 11:30-5:00 last night, and I panicked thinking I had missed a feeding!  Lo and behold, I fed her at 5:00 and she went back to sleep until 9:15.  I could get used to this! ;)

Nice!! That's kinda the schedule I'd like DD on since it's more in line with when we typically sleep, but the 9pm was nice! I fell asleep right after that, so I got to enjoy... don't know why DH was up until 2, that's his own fault haha.

Hoping this continues, but I'm fully prepared for last night to have been a tease. Smile

This is very similar to DD's normal routine, although she's been messed up from being super fussy from my milk oversupply issue. Hopefully she returns to it.

  • Nice!  My LO can sleep 6-7 hours too, but I have to get up to pump.  Stoked for you!

  • That's so great! I admit I'm totally jealous. DS is 6 weeks and still wakes up at least every 2 hours. DH and I have yet to sleep together at all at night :(
