I saw your post on the CD board!  Welcome to a new obsession!!!

I recommend you start with just prefolds and covers for the bulk of your stash.  They are cheapest and the least confusing way to start!  

As I started getting more confident in "knowing" what types of diapers there were, I started looking into All in ones (no cover or insert needed) because they seem easy.  They are a bit more expensive.  But buying them 2nd hand or on eBay is a great idea to have a stash that is made up of different types of diapers so you know which ones work best for your LO bec every LO is different.  Also for specific reviews as you are researching you can check out this Google Doc

    I saw your post this morning too. I haven't posted there yet (trying not to jinx myself) but we fully intend to exclusively CD. I need to sell all of my G diapers and get prefolds and all in ones. I like the pocket dipes too. I have a good friend that makes wool soakers and fleece soakers so I'll have her make some for me. Glad to know I'm not alone!
    After two losses, a rainbow arrived! DD born 11.5.11
    Dx with severe Asherman's syndrome after a botched PP D&C (pursuing med mal)
    Hysteroscopy Oct '13, not enough progress 
    Hysteroscopy Jan '14, given an end-of-the-road diagnosis
    Joined International Asherman's Association April '14 
    Not ready to give up yet.
    Hysteroscopy with Dr. Isaacson (an expert in the USA) 6.2.14: Good prognosis, at least 50% of cavity open.
    Repeat hysteroscopy scheduled with Dr. I on 6.16.14. Great progress. Unbenched!!!!
    Discussing actively TTC with DH after the heartache of the last year. We're both reeling.
