DH (accidentally) broke my camera. It was a point & shoot and it not worth paying someone to fix it. Our anniversary is next Wednesday and I said I would like to buy a camera for our joint gift. We do not have a ton of money to spend, but I want something that will take good pictures. Glare with Ad's glasses is always an issue, and my old point and shoot took blurry pics when I did not use a flash. Anyone want to rec a good, cheap camera? TIA!
Re: good, but cheap camera
I really liked my Canon point and shoot until I broke it. They don't make the same model anymore, but I have had several Canons and I've loved all of them. The one I had was a powershot SD880 IS Digital Elph. DH actually managed fix it, but it's not the same now.
I think that they have newer models in that same line which I would assume would be just as nice.
I'm not a fan of flash photography, and I ended up with lots of blurry shots, but the ones that were on focus were awesome. Really crisp. If you read the manual, I'm pretty sure that mine allows you to change some settings like the shutter speed and ISO which would allow for more in focus though slightly grainier photos in low light so you wouldn't have to use the flash. I'm lazy so I just made DH install more lights in our living room.
The camera was a gift, but I'm thinking that it was not the cheapest point and shoot available. Of course, it was a lot cheaper than a DSLR. I loved it though and still use it regularly even though it's all jacked up now after I got sand in it.

I have a 10mp EX Z1050 Casio Exilim that we don't use at all anymore since we got an SLR. I liked it a lot, but honestly I haven't used any other point and shoot cameras so I don't know what to compare it to. It does have a huge LCD screen.
If you're interested pick a price that you think is fair (think cheap) and email me at my username at gmail dot com. I should have the case and SD card around here somewhere too.
