Instead of a glider, I'm thinking about putting a day bed in the nursery. My thinking is that the baby could have this as his/her big kid bed down the road.
We are losing our only guest bedroom, so I'm also thinking that if we have an overnight guest, I could bring the baby into our bedroom and let the guest take the nursery.
Do you think this would work?
Re: Day bed in nursery?
I definitely think it's a good idea. Like you said you could use it for guests, when your DC gets older, and also if you ever want to sleep close when DC is young or having a bad night.
Our DD sleeps in her own room and always has but this past week I was at my parents and slept in the same room w/ DD (I was in a bed & DD was in a crib) and I loved it. For our next child we will probably put a small bed in the nursery.
I have a full on queen size in the kids' nursery. Trust me, you'll want a nice, comfy bed in there. I never let them sleep alone when they are sick, so I spend a lot of time on that bed. So it is totally worth it to have a nice bed in the baby's room.
In our old apartment, I spent a lot of nights sleeping on the floor
We have a single bed in our nursery and it will be his bed when he gets older.
I think it is a great idea.
