We would have liked to have 4 (DH especially- he even said 5 at one point, yikes!), but all things considered it looks like 3 (God willing) will be it for us.
And as far as gender- we honestly have no preference. Healthy is all we hope for!

This is my second, my husband's first, and tentatively our last. I told him that if he wanted a boy we could try for another one after this. He replied, "I already have a son". I'm so lucky that my son has such an amazing step-dad.

This is our 1st LO and we plan on definitely having 2, maayybbee 3, we'll have to see!
Im just a little bummed cuz this LO was an absolute surprise and throws off my 'plan' a little bit. I wanted my children close together but we are not in the position to try again for quite some time after shes born. I just loved being close in age to all my sisters so Im sad she wont have that but Id rather have them spaced out better to provide better for them than to have them close together and struggle.

This is our first. We would ideally like three, but if we have three girls, we agreed we would try for a 4th. If it's 4 girls then we are not meant to have a boy!
If we are financially able to, we would like to have as many as 5 or 6...
Then again, this is my first and I may change my mind after L&D lmao
Good thing DH got his boy the first time! I would love to have to have a little girl someday but it's not like we'll keep pushing them out until we get one 6 at the MOST and that's IT!!!

This is our last, physically at least. I was told I will be unable to carry another baby to full term so I am getting my tubes tied in May. However, we want 3 kids so we have already started researching foster-adoption if we still feel that way in 5 years.
Our kids will be exactly 2 years apart, we started TTC when he was 5 months old, and it hasn't been easy being KU with a toddler in the house, and I am sure we will have some major bumps the first few months, but I am excited about the age gap.

This baby is our second baby and more than likely our last. Though for the record, if Baby Boy had been a girl, it still would have been our last. Two is enough for us!
what happens if you end up with six girls and no boy? keep going?
tokenhoser:
This is our first, likely of two. We'll see how this goes.
I know a family of 5 girls. And another of 7 boys. There is a point where trying for the other sex is crazy.
I think if we get to 3 and no boy then it might just be tough cookies. 3 is how many I wanted to begin with, hubbs wanted 2, but he also wants to have a son. Obviously we love our child no matter if it has a penis or vagina, but it would be nice to have one of each.
When the U/S tech pointed out our little girls, girly parts neither of us were disappointed, he started talking about buying another gun though, a bigger one to scare off the boys.
We're going for 2, hoping the next one is a girl so we have one of each and my husband has his little princess that he so badly wants. If the second one is a boy I doubt we'll try for a 3rd, we have talked about adopting a girl so we'll see.

I want to be one and done, but we will probably have one more after this one. DH wants one of each sex but I told him the baby factory is closed for good after two no matter what we have.
First and last. We have always been very clear with eachother that we either wanted none or one. And I really can't imagine ever wanting to be pregnant again.
Edited to add: Gender makes no difference to us, we're thrilled it was a boy, woul dhave been just as thrilled with a girl. All we want is a healthy child.

I think the twins might be it for us especially considering the challenges of this pregnancy. This may very well be my first and only pregnancy. Only time will tell though.

I am 99% sure this is our last. I always wanted 3 kids but DH is fine with two. I will be 35 in June so if we waited another 3 years to try again, I'll be 38 and I just don't think I'm up for that. I do wish we could have a girl someday.
This is our third baby. I was happy with the two girls, and this little one came as a big surprise to my husband and I. He would like one more just b/c he doesn't like the idea of a middle child, and would like an even number of children, However I'm just not sure the girls are 22 months apart, and the youngest and this one will be 20 months apart, so if we do have anymore I would like to wait at least 2 years to see how it goes w/ 3 to decided about 4. I guess only time will tell, but if we do have a 4 I'm definitely done, and getting my tubes tied.

This is our first. We always wanted 2 kids, but now I am just not sure. We'll see how the next few years go and decide. I think once we see that little guys face, we will want another.
This is our first. I would love to have two or three, but my DH comes from a huge extended family and wants our family to be like his mothers...with 6 kids. I don't think I would be able to handle that many, especially financially. But I guess you never know?
We originally talked about 3 or 4.. now, I'm thinking 2. I have by no means had a hard pregnancy, but I'm not sure I would want to do this 4 times. We'll try for another in a year or two, and see where that leaves us!

This is my 3rd pregnancy, but I don't have any children. So far, this is my most successful pregnancy. We went through a fair bit to get this far (fertility treatments, time, failed cycles etc) and although there are so many who go through much more to get pregnant, I don't know that I would do it again. I'm so blessed and lucky to have this baby (hopefully) that I don't want to push my luck, know what I mean? If it happens, it happens, but I don't think I would chase another pregnancy as hard as this one.

This is our 3rd. We always said 3 and done, but before I even got pregnant this time around we started talking about a 4th. I've kind of warmed up to the idea. We will re-evaluate when this LO is about a year old. If we decide that this it, he will get a vasectomy. If we decide we want one more, we will try and he will get a vasectomy while I'm pregnant. I think my husband really wants a boy, he loves his girls and if our potential #4 is also a girl, I know he'll be be slightly disappointed....but I don't want to keep having babies until we get a boy.

This is our first and we're still unsure how many we want. I think I would be perfectly happy with 2 whether it be 2 girls or a girl and a boy, but DH comes from a bigger family and would love 3 or even 4. He used to say we'd try up to 4 kids to get a boy, but I think he's changed his mind about that. He is so excited to be having a little girl and I honestly don't think that will change if we only have girls. Only time will tell. I can't imagine having 4, but I am keeping an open mind to go beyond 2 if we think it suits our family well.

This is our second, we have a girl and a surprise on the way. We would like 2 or 3 kids, but 3 is the limit. No matter what this child is, we will be happy. We will decide when the baby is 1 or so if a third is right for us, and begin trying. We do not need one of each sex to complete our family, just happy, healthy siblings for our kids to grow up with. Imagine the fun of having 3 girls! or 1 girl to spoil and 2 rugged boys to protect her or any other combination! It all works for DH and I!
I would like to have a girl so we'll probably try for one more after this one. If the next one is a boy we may try once more for a girl, depends on how things go to be honest.
This is my first. Originally I thought I wanted three or four but I'm not sure how much I want to go through pregnancy again. I'll see how I feel when I deliver.

Remains to be seen whether we stop with one or with two. I'm not sure I could handle two (children or pregnancies). DH would strongly prefer two because he hated being an only child.
We would like three. Our first was a boy, this one is a girl, they are 21 months apart. I think that we will take a nice long break before even discussing #3!

Yes, that's crazy. What's to say a girl wouldn't want to keep her last name? I did.
