NIFR: Florida mini vacation ideas for DH's 30th :-)

Ok ladies, Dh's 30th birthday is in August and I want to start thinking of what I can do for him. I know he doesn't like birthday "parties" because he's just not that into celebrating his birthday. Also, since this is his 30th I know he's going to be really depressed because for as long as I can remember (we've been together since I was 15 and he was 17), he has said he wanted atleast one child before he turned 30. When we got married we thought we were right on track and then of course came azoo!!

So, I thought maybe I could surprise him with a weekend getaway.

I want it to be somewhere we can drive. It can't be too expensive beacuse we're really tight on money latley! Any ideas for somewhere here in Florida??

The Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Seminole Florida kicks major a$$, my BFF and I always go there during our Miami trips. It's huge and there's plenty of gambling, food, drinks and entertainment to be had!

Have you ever been to Siesta Key? It's our favorite place for a cheap, quick getaway. The beach is BEAUTIFUL, and the place we stay is so inexpensive and in a really great location. You can walk half a block to the beach, and you're right at the end of the main street in the Village so you can walk to the bars and restaurants. https://www.siestakeyflorida.com/index.htm When you are going is low season so you can get a reg hotel room for $94. Just make sure you call to reserve and ask for a renovated room. We've stayed there a bunch and one time got one of their older rooms and didn't care for it.

Another place I really want to go is Naples... https://www.bayfrontinnnaples.com/index.php I found this place before and think it looks really cute. I think their room is $135 in August.

I don't have any ideas, but wanted to drop a line to say how sweet all the planning is. I had a meltdown about not having a baby when I turned 30 and a trip sure would have made things sunnier...in other words, a shiny gold wife star for you! Smile

Come to Atlantic / Neptune Beach (Jacksonville) stay at the Sea Turtle. Rent bikes for the weekend once you park at the hotel there will no reason to start your car till you are ready to head home. Within walking distance: Starbucks, Lillie's Coffee Shop, many places to eat, drink and shop.The hotel(it isn't fancy, but it is clean) has an outdoor bar overlooking the ocean "The Lemon Bar" where many locals head as soon as they get off work for the week.

Do you mean the one in Hollywood Florida? I've stayed at that one and it's amazing but that's where were from (south florida) So I was looking to go somewhere new :-) We now live near Tampa so I was thinking of somewhere on the west coast.

Hi!!! This is really sweet! I'm actually planning a surprise bday trip for my DH too!

So, as you know, I'm a huge Disney fan when it comes to birthdays and celebrations. They have a GREAT Florida rates for hotels and tickets. It may be fun to get away to there.

I also love the Siesta Key idea! Another idea may be a 3 day cruise! We are so close to three ports that the Florida resident rate may be just as much (or less) than if you stayed at al hotel! And for the three day cruises from here, you could be in Bahamas, Cozumel or Grand Cayman. Definitley can't go wrong!

I've heard cedar key is really nice- if you like camping and fishing. We are thinking about renting a pop up camper- with A/C (yes I'm a weenie) and heading up there this summer!
