Re: Thankful Thursday

  • I am thankful that I have survived these 12 days of being a single mom to 3 kids out here in the land of no family, etc without imbibing or running away. 5 more days, 5 more days, 5 more days...

    I am thankful that I am crafty/handy.

You are amazing!  I seriously don't think I could do it.

  • I am sooo thankful that my dad is recovring from major surgery to remove a tumor from his pancreas. He had to have his pancreas, part of his intestine, part of his stomach, his gallbladder, and some other things removed and then all sewed back together. It was a long 8 hour surgery that he had last Wednesday and he has already stopped taking pain killers. Another good thing is that the cancer that they found in his pancreas is not as aggressive as the kind that is commonly found. His kind is only found in less thatn 5% of all patients and peole usally don't even make it to the 2 year survival mark. We are hoping that prognosis will be better and that he will survive longer than 2 years.

I'm thankful that I got clear confirmation this baby is a girl! I love knowing for sure.

  • I'm thankful that DH has a job he likes

That he is coming home tomorrow night...Not sure how I am going to get used to 5 whole days on my own with a "spirited" toddler.

I'm thankful for my friends and family that are willing to help, even it be just hang out.

That my friend is coming over tonight so we can celebrate her Birthday over pizza, wine, and talk.

That the first 2 #'s on the scale are in the area I want to be in...just have to work on that last digit!

This is such great news, Kam! I have been thinking of your family all week! I am so glad that he is healing well. I hope you continue to get good news and that your dad lives for a long long time to come! Your whole family remains in my T&Ps!

  • I am thankful that I have an amazing husband that has not only supported me in my dreams, but has helped to build them with me.

Last night, we had a come to Jesus about how I feel like something bad is going to happen because everything is so good for us right now. He assured me that nothing bad is going to happen and everything is so good because we EARNED it. We are good people, making smart decisions and our good karma is coming full circle.

    I love him.

  • I am thankful to have my job, and to have it be secure. DH and I have been blessed that I have kept my job through this terrible economy. It has allowed him to go to college, and in turn secure a better future for us. The Interior Design/Remodeling world was hit hard, and so many talented Designer I know are out of work and have been for a long time. I'm truly thankful!

  • This has been one of the hardest weeks in a long time for us.  The girls have been sick with colds and ear infections, DH's uncle is about to die from cancer and I haven't slept well in over a week.  Basically I've been busy having a pity party for one over here.

If I'm thankful for anything it is that our tax return came in and I could indulge in a little retail therapy yesterday.

I am thankful that I finally found a combination of diet and exercise that is working for me, and that I am shedding all this weight FAST! It's so nice to finally be able to see results, after struggling for so long.

I am so thankful that my hubby has a job that he loves and that respects and values him! He is so much happier now, and it's great to finally have the man I married back!

I am thankful that I listened  to my mommy instinct yesterday and took Mister-Mister to the doctor. He was sick, but his symptoms were just cold-like, no big deal. Well something told me he wasn't doing well yesterday, and when I took him in, he has a double-ear infection. Thanks to antibiotics, I am starting to see my little boy back. He's still not competely himself, but he is getting there.

  • I am thankful for friends, old and new!

I am thankful that my DD is so friggin cute lately.  The whole learning how to walk/trying out more words/giving hugs stage is pretty awesome.  I'm enjoying it before the next big change happens.

  • I am thankful that the work email I got from the government saying that we missed a deadline was their error and not mine (and that I had all the documentation to back that up)!

I'm thankful for the time I get with the little bug at night after work. Though I may complain when she wakes up early in the morning, it is nice to get a little extra time in with her before I go to work.

I'm also thankful for how involved SO is with DD. He loves his little girl, and at times it is like we are each vying to be the one who is holding and playing with her. I have a great little family!

  • I'm thankful that even though I'm a hot mess of sickness, DD has nothing worse than a runny nose.

I'm thankful for chocolate caramel creamer in my hot coffee this morning.

And I'm thankful for Skype and Vonage so I can keep in touch with my best friend even though she lives across the world : )

  • I am thankful for our new cloth diapers. I love how cute they are, how soft they are, and how daddy friendly they are. I also love how well they are working for us and that the little dude's bum is already getting better.

  • I am thankful that my husband was able to come home yesterday to help me and take care of Em while I was laid up in bed. I am also thankful for Zofran, which is allowing me to be sitting up without gagging :-)

I am thankful that while my daughter is high-strung, a little defiant and can yell like a drill sergeant, she has the most loving and gentle spirit and has rubbed my back while I hang out over the toilet and told me "everything's be okay, Mommy", covered me with blankets and snuggled up with me while I've been able to do next to nothing the last couple days.

  • I am thankful for some new friends I have made.  It feels really great to find some ladies that I really feel I connect with.

Listening to the Kiss Radiothon makes me really appreciate the fact that my baby is a healthy happy 11 month old.  And it makes me thankful I live in an area with such an amazing Children's hospital should we ever need it.

I am thankful that my H and I both have secure jobs where we are appreciated and make good money.  It's hard to leave Maeve every day but I love knowing that we are providing for her and her future and showing her that Moms can be great moms and work outside the home at the same time if that's what they want.

  • 1. I'm thankful that my husband is awesome and surprised me with a photography class via Stacy. We saw her at the Bumps & Babies fair and chatted up a storm...turns out that while I was talking, he was writing down some information. Sly guy. I'm ready to be off of auto!

    2. I'm so very thankful that my step-dad got his move memo and will be on third shift. This means that my mom and my sister are going to come over to my house to watch the kids and that will shave 25 minutes off of my time in the morning. I could dance right now!!!!

    That is really wonderful!

And I'm also with Misha about internet being back online, plus cable and electricity.  I'm thankful that we have those luxuries in the first place, but especially so when they've been down, even for a short time.

I'm also thankful that, despite the numbness/swelling in my hands/ankles, and the previa concerns for a few months, I have had a generally "easy" pregnancy.  And I'm thankful for the chance to have the birth I'd hoped, and to already have a good idea of when that will be, too.

  • I am so thankful that I have some amazing friends and family that surround me. I am so thankful for my husband he is got to be the most fantastic dad to my girls.

I am thankful for my clean house.

I am thankful I am down about 4 pounds even though the last couple of weeks I have been horrible. Those last couple of weeks reminding me why I chose to make healthier life style changes a few years ago.

I am so thankful Kiah has a FULL!!!!!! Set of teeth again. It has been 6 years and it is really neat to see her so proud! Even with the amount we paid it was a humongous blessing!

  • I am thankful that I am able to EBF still and that in a week I can start BFing from my left side again.

I am thankful that even when R is feeling cruddy because his reflux is acting up, he is still all smiles.

I am thankful that I get to stay home with R and that I'll be able to go back to school soon.

Your dad is in my thoughts!  I hope that he has a long, happy life left ahead after his surgery.  He's got two beautiful grandsons to watch grow up so there's no time for sickness.

I am thankful that my dog's lymphoma seems to be regulating with the therapies we are doing for her.  I know it's not a cure but I want to give her as much good time as possible and I am optimistic about what we are doing.

  • I'm thankful for my mother.  My SIL just lost hers, and I spent an hour on the phone with her feeling helpless while she sobbed.  It reminded me how I should do better at savoring every moment I have with mine (even when she drives me batty).

  • I'm thankful for (knock on wood) no more snow!!

The great things coming around the corner for my family, there are some big changes coming but it's all for the positive and I'm so excited for the family members it affects!!

I'm thankful for my little booger and what a happy little baby she's become. She recently cut two teeth and besides the stuffy nose you'd never know until you looked into her mouth. She's really been a trooper!!

I'm thankful for TJ, he is an even better dad than I imagined he'd be. We're stronger than ever since M was born, and seeing the two of them together literally makes my heart burst with love.

Yes I love hearing that too!! I have to admit I was a little nervous before Madeline was born. I'd read a number of posts on here about how the addition of a baby had made their marriage harder. We both have committed to working things out with each other and I'm surprised by how well we parent together so far. I know she's only 5 months so it can change, but I really do feel lucky and thankful for that feeling of "family" I have now that she is here. I swear I love him more every time I see the two of them together.

  • I've been having a rough week so this was a tough one for me.  Then I spent awhile in the car and had the Children's Hospital Radiothon on.

I have a great life.  In every aspect.  I am thankful that my teenagers sass me.  I'm thankful my son is stuborn and (tries) to defy me.  I'm thankful for a baby growing steadily inside me and I'm thankful for a husband who loves and supports me in every crazy idea I have!!  I'm thankful for my job, my health insurance, my wonderful church and supportive friends.  Everything.  Really, truly, even the stuff that this morning was bogging me down and my rough week.  I have it easy.  And for that I'm thankful.

Right there with you!  I read and hear so much about husbands not doing their fair share, more fighting since the baby arrived, etc., and I'm so grateful that my husband does a great job doing his part as a father and we are still so much in love and happy.

I'm so thankful that DD has had a few good nights of sleep this week. I've felt almost normal the past few days! I'm sure I just jinxed myself though!
