Can you guys help me out? I'm still on a quest to get Anna into a safe
car seat. Our problem right now seems to be that the britax line's chest
clip is too long , so the straps don't sit on her body and don't hold
her in place.
can you guys measure the chest clips of your seats or take a picture of it next to a dollar bill? And let me know what seat you have?
I'm hoping I can find ANY seat with a smaller clip that we can make work

Re: Convertible Car seat moms....
Not sure if this will work, or how much she weighs but we use the sunshinekids radians. They are expensive (240-300) but they have a minimum weight of 5 lbs, so they are designed to safely clip in tiny bitties. Gwen was under five lbs when we brought her home, and she rode in ours upon occasion when in DH's car. We had to get them because they will fit three across.
Not sure how much help that is, but it might be worth a shot.
ONE more thing!
Look at THIS blog, and read the comment at the end of this post. It talks about our seats, and I think it might help you guys out. HTH

that might work. I'll have to tell DH. Thanks so much!!
I've learned to ignore lower weight limits though. THe specialty convertible car seat they tried to have us put anna in is also rated at 5 pounds. I'd LOVE to see them put a 5 pounder in there, because it's WAY too big for my 10 pounder. The chest clip is wider than her chest, and the straps don't lay right at all. There's like 3 inches of slack.

How big is she now? I know that when gwen was in the 5 lb range, she fit well, and was fairly supported. She needed receiving blankets around her head like the NICU showed us as she did in her infant seat, but the Radians are awesome!
The only downside to them is that they are HEAVY M-Fers! But, they will last through 85lbs FF, and 45 lbs RFing, so that is a definite plus! I hope you have some luck. It could be a seat you get, and can keep for the long haul even after her brace is gone. Which it WILL be!
You girls are awesome.
