One more fun pregnancy symptom...

Last week I started itching all over my chest.  It spread to my stomach, arms, and legs & I've been completely miserable.  I've been treating it like an eczema flare, but it is so much worse than my usual flares.  I got only 3 hours of sleep last night.

I got an emergency appointment with my allergist today & he confirmed that it is eczema (not PUPPS, thank goodness!  Apparently some women get PUPPS in first tri!).  He said pregnancy can cause eczema to flare, and gave me a plan to get it under control.

On a side note, he said worsening allergy symptoms during pregnancy have been found to be more common when carrying a girl!  I can't wait to find out if he is right.

    I have this same thing!  My OB pretty much stated the same as yours...this can be a lovely side effect of pregnancy :)  Some people get morning sickness, some people get fatigue, apparently I get eczema!  It's so uncomfortably itchy but I have been using an approved topical cream and it has helped.  

    I hadn't heard that it tends to be more common when carrying a girl...interesting!
