Rec your lightweight stroller

I'm getting so tired of hauling around the infant car seat, so I'm thinking we're going to give it, and the snap 'n go, the boot soon.

I already have a BOB, but I'd also like a lightweight or umbrella stroller for everyday and travel.  Any recs?  Bonus if DD can use it now (5 months).

Thanks!

  • I love my First Years Jet stroller!!  It is super light, fits in my trunk and it was less than $40.

I keep it in my trunk and I have tons of space leftover (and I have a compact car).  It's perfect for mall trips, etc.

  • Chicco Liteway--It's the only stroller we have ever used. It cost around $130 online from Babies R Us (which I know is a bit pricey for an umbrella stroller), but it is super awesome.

The seat lies totally flat, so DD could use it even as a small infant. The weight limit is pretty high, and it will be usable for several years.

Easy to fold, very light, fits easily in the trunk of a small car. The handles are a bit taller than a lot of the umbrella strollers so it is more comfortable to push.

I wish they made a double stroller version of it since we will be needing a double stroller in a few months.

  • We have a Maclaren Quest and I love it.  It was pricey, but it's our only stroller.  It does recline a bit- I want to say we started using it at 2 1/2 or 3 months?

  • We also have the jet and a chicco umbrella stroller. I love them both. Those are the only strollers that we use. So much easier than a big bulky stroller.

Another Maclaren Quest fan.  We were extremely happy with the way it held up and are able to save it for the next kiddo with minimal wear and tear despite using it all the time!

  • I have the Combi Cosmo stroller and love it! The basket is a bit small but I've only had a problem when I've already shopped too much at the outlets.

Jack has been using it since he was 2 months old. Plus I love that it folds into thirds so it's really compact and perfect for traveling in planes.

  • We have the Inglesina Swift.  We used a BBB coupon so it came in at about $100.  We like it because the handles are tall enough for DH, and it's also light, compact, and easy to fold/un-fold.

  • Uppa Baby G-lite, as featured on this site that scours all the reviews for you. I saw that the Liteway someone else mentioned is shown as a best for newborns. Very helpful site. I like my stroller and how it has UV protection and was made in CA. Unfortunately, I haven't been using it much because if we're outside we use the Babyjogger, and I use a cart or my Ergo in stores. I didn't want to be one of those people with the huge strollers in places like the mall though.

  • I love the Mcclaren quest that I just got for DD#1.  Its lightweight and reclines, plus cozy.  Yes, a little pricey but used a coupon and know that she'll have it for years.
