Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone used a mini crib or smaller crib?

We have to squeeze dd into ds' room, so I need a smaller crib.  I wish I didn't have to, but it's just not possible to use a full-size one.

Was it big enough for your LO to grow into?  Which one did you have?

Re: Anyone used a mini crib or smaller crib?

  • We are actually buying my friend's mini-crib from her. She has used it since her son was an infant and he's now 18 months. (They are buying him a toddler bed, which is why they are getting rid of it.) When I first saw it I didn't even know it was a mini-crib, it fit in perfect and has the look of standard cribs. It transitions to a twin bed, which is what I liked too. I don't have a link but it's the DaVinci Emily Convertable Mini Crib. Hope that helps!

I was JUST looking at that one online!  It looked really nice and like you said, not like a mini crib.

  • Yes my parents have a minicrib at their beach house and DS has slept in it several times and It's very nice.Well built and appealing to the eye too.  It's this one:

We have this exact mini crib.  DD has slept in it since day one.  When she was born, we lived in a small one bedroom condo and couldn't fit a regular size crib in our bedroom.  She's 18 months now and in her own room, and still sleeping in the mini crib.  She fits just fine.  We'll convert it to a twin bed when she's ready and skip the toddler bed.

  • Thanks, guys.  I'll check out those recommendations and finally get this girl a crib.  She's so outgrown the bassinett.
