Babies on the Brain

Anyone know how to tell if clothes come from Kohls?

I got two Carters outfits at my shower and they are absolutely the wrong season by enough that even if Kai is big/small they probably won't work.  One is a fleece sleeper for July and the other is a shorts outfit for Feb.  I was going to return them if possible.  But I am not sure if they came from Kohls or the Carters outlet and don't want to return them to the wrong place?

Eh if I can't figure it out, I will just keep them and give them to someone who has a right season kid down the road.

  • There.s probably an easier way, but try googling the UPC number on the tag.

  • If you bring them to the store they can scan them and they will tell you. Sorry that is all I got.
  • I would just take it in and see what they say.  If Kohl's says no, take it to Carters.

On a related note, my grandmother is constantly buying Gabe seasonal clothes (jackets, sweaters, etc) on clearance from places like Janie & Jack and Children's Place.  It's all really nice stuff, but she buys it in HUGE sizes, so I have no idea if it will actually fit him when the time comes around.  He's not growing as fast as he was and is barely wearing 2T stuff these days, yet I already have winter stuff in 3T (and 4T!) that have been hanging in his closet for 6-12 months.

  • I would just take them and see.  The UPC's will be the same no matter what store (unless it has a tag the the store put on there).

Seeing as how stores clearance out the winter stuff this time of year, and haven't brought in all the summer stuff, those outfits may be something that they got on sale and put in their gift stash or something.

I think I will just take them to Kohls.  I have to return a pair of pants there anyway.

In sizes that big, they stay in the size for much longer. After age two, it takes them usually about a year to go through a size, so you'll probably use it.

  • Just some tips.......

It is completely up to you when it comes to clothes for your baby, but sometimes you do need a blanket sleeper in July . I am assuming that she bought you a three month size? Which is why you are saying July. I know when Joseph was between 1-3 months (in the summer)  old we put him to sleep in night gowns for easier diaper changing. But it was nice when he started sleeping through the night to put him in a blanket sleeper because

    1. we had the air conditioning on and it kept him warm and 2. He didn't use blankets when he was that young it was either a sleep sack or a blanket sleeper. Just some thoughts .

As for the Shorts outfit for february, that would be a 9 month size which in carter's is  26.5 -28.5 inches and 16.5-20.5 lbs. I had no idea JJ would grow as fast as he did but he was a breastfed baby that at 4 1/2 months old weighed almost 17 lbs. Which meant he was in 9 Month clothing in August (he was an April) baby.

Sometimes baby's are true to size and match perfectly for their age, but sometimes they grow super fast and then slow down.

Just some helpful tips for clothes :)
