I'm in Belmont, but I'll go north or south for a great person.
I've got ringlets, frizz, and they clump to dreads in the underside of my hair so I need someone awesome with curl hair.
I wear it curly always, so if you wear your hair curly let me know how makes your hair look great ![]()
Re: curly hair stylist needed
I have curly hair... My stylist is in Campbell and I've always had her cut my hair in an a-line, blow-dry and flat iron. I went in for a trim this weekend and told her since having DS I don't have time to blow-dry or flat-iron my hair, so give me a cut that works with my curl. I also asked her to show me how to style my hair, so it's not frizzy, crunchy or sticky from product.
She used the Redken Curl Refiner on me and told me the key to soft, non-frizzy curls is a good creamy leave-in conditioner and not to touch it while it air dries (which is hard!) So far her tips have helped.
Not sure if Campbell is too far from you, but I'd be happy to give you her info if you're interested.
Well I might need your rec, seems we are the only two that wear curly hair.
Not sure if I can go that far, but since I'll likely have to take H to a drop in place in mountain view, maybe I could try it and see how it goes...
Mine is in Los Gatos. She herself has curly hair (though mostly wears it straight) so she understands curly. I have crimpy curly fuzzy hair and she works wonders. She cut my hair perfectly so I can wear it curly or straight and showed me how to wear it either way which is key.
I like the bed head curly lotion stuff and the KMS curl up.
Lemme know if you want her info.

EJ is growing up too fast!
I didn't respond earlier because my guy is in SF, and I'm not sure if that's too far for you. But I like him a lot, and he gives me a cut that works for curly or straight. My rule is that it has to look good curly with no styling...like put product in, let air dry, and that's it. That's all I have time or patience for!
Let me know if you want his info. He's down by the Giants baseball park.
As for product, I swear by the TIGI Curls Rock curl cream. Like Char said, you have to let it air dry without touching it. It's a bit crunchy when it's finally dry, but then you scrunch the curls and they are perfect and soft.
