hi ladies! i was just wondering how many, if any of you, took zofran to help ease the morning sickness. my nausea doesn't normally start until week 8 (well, its been the pattern anyway, for the last 3 pregnancies)
with my DDs zofran wasn't around, and I just suffered the old fashioned way. fortunately, my morning sickness happened either during the summer, or at a desk job i had before teaching (i was a chemist and was removed from the lab when i learned I was pregnant). but with robbie, i had the m/s during the summer and going into the school year, and took zofran to help.
i am just so scared this time to take anything, but i just want to eat healthy too. i was thinking i would have 2 more weeks before handling the m/s. i'm glad though, b/c it means my LO is growing in there, and i'll take any pregnant symptoms I can get!
i'm of course doing all the home methods i know of...seabands, ginger, preggy pops, ice cream was always one for me, and other tricks. but they don't seem to be working.
i know its best not to take anything, but if i have to cave and take it, everything i've read and my dr told me it was safe....any suggestions/ stories? please share!!!
EDIT: the m/s has kicked in full swing since Thursday...hence me asking so early about this!!
Re: zofran
thank you!!! you read my mind, and i know any medicines i took during my pregnancy with robbie had nothing to do with what happened, but it's a relief to know someone else who took it.
Thank you! off to take a zofran and get some chinese i've been jonesin' for!

With my first pregnacy I was due with triplets and was sick every hour on the hour, Zofran was my friend.
This pregnancy I still asked for the meds because I didn't want to be hit out of the blue without it. So far so good.
I was put on Zofran at 6 weeks, 1 day because that is when I started puking. As it was, I lost 12 lbs. or so and was dealing with serious dehydration all the way to week 16. I took Zofran the whole time, it's the only way I didn't end up in the hospital for more fluids.
I say, take the Zofran.
Zofran will make you feel better, and it will lower your risk of becoming dehydrated.
In my case, I started taking Zofran at 5 weeks and still need it occasionally. I could not have functioned, ate, drank, etc without it.
If there was any danger they would not prescribe it.
thank you ladies! i took it around 4ish, and was eating a good dinner of chinese food and water by 5:30. i can understand the dehydration--i didn't realize until i had the glass of water with dinner that i hadn't had much to drink today! and the difference in how i feel from just 3 short hours ago is amazing!
thank you for reassuring me about taking it, especially so early. i know i'll only take it once a day as needed (probably around dinner time at least) just b/c still having the nausea as awful as it is reassures me everything is ok!
