I've got to recommend Baby Bargains to everyone. The book is fantastic. It gives reviews and ratings on just about EVERY baby product---cribs, carseats, strollers, monitors, etc. It is an absolute must have!
It helped us from buying crap when we had baby #1. You can look at a crib online and see the user ratings look pretty good, but when you research it in the Baby Bargains book, you can discover that they may not be a great brand (whether it be from cheap material, bad customer service, or many recalls). It also gives you the best product rec's for various price ranges, which is very helpful.
The edition out now is the 8th edition. The next version comes out in April.
