beco or ergo? what is your fave in general?

i have a beco but have never used it and was thinking about exchanging it for the ergo......

i also use the bjorn, my sakura bloom and i have a moby too.

i know-it is a lot.....i love wearing my babe!

which one do you like? what is your favorite mode of wearing in general!?

Re: beco or ergo? what is your fave in general?

  • I'm curious why you use the bjorn over the beco...

I own a beco. I chose it because it fits me (and Husband) better than the Ergo. I like the extra inner panel, too. I feel it makes it easy to scoot Baz onto my back, which is where he spends a LOT of his time these days.

I also like the look of the beco better than the ergo. I got an all-black one and added Husband's boy scout camp patches.

When he's not in the beco and I'm wearing him, he's in a woven - like a moby but not stretchy.

  • the bjorn is so user friendly and the beco is not so much! the bjorn has so many clasps that are color coded, etc and the beco is just all black and unclear.

i need to spend more time with it i think!

  • I definitely LOVE our Ergo, but I've been wanting to try a Beco as well... just in case I like it better. Big Smile
  • I never tried an Ergo. I have a Beco and once you adjust it to your body there really isn't much adjusting and the clasp is a two-handed unlatch for safety, again once you use it it is easy.

  • I have both. I like that I can switch him from front to back without taking him out of the Beco but it never felt comfortable to me and I super hate the safety buckles. I still love te Ergo even though getting him on my back was tricky before he could hang on and stay put on my back. HTH

  • I have a Beco gemini, the one without the panel and I chose that after trying the Ergo. The Ergo simply didn't fit me in the length since I am on the short side. I also had a Bjorn and I actually think the Beco is much easier to get DD into than the bjorn. *But* I am flexible enough to be able to reach back and buckle the back strap on top of my back by myself and I think this is key to 'easy'. It is highly individual what fits you and the baby best.

  • I'll trade yuo my Ergo for the Beco :) LOL

I really do love my Ergo, but the shoulder strap sometimes slides off my shoulder. I am only 5 ft though!
