Migraine

Ok, I have had a migraine since Thursday night? Is this something I should be worried about? Only being able to take tylenol is killing me. I took prescription meds for my migraines before I was pregnant and they would get rid of my migraines for months but nows I am getting them once a week or so. I don't know what to do and I am losing my mind. Usually they go away after a day. :(

Re: Migraine

  • I'm in the opposite boat you are. My migraines have gotten better with pregnancy...a nice change. I did see my neurologist though and he prescribed Tylenol with codine (sp), that surprised me, for those ones that regular Tylenol won't take care of. Do you have a neurologist you could talk to? I hope you're able to get some relief soon.

  • I'm in the same boat... I don't have any other doctors I could see and I only had very rare ones before pregnancy. My doctor suggested drinking a big coke (she specifically said a huge big gulp), take a tylenol, put a cold rag over your eyes, and rest as long as you can in a dark room. It is safe to have up to 200mg of caffeine a day, fyi :) Nothing really works for me and now DH is having sympathy headaches... which makes him super grumpy.. bummer.

  • I have pretty bad migraines myself, I was on a prescription before we found out I was pregnant.  I have been getting them once a week since we found out and I take two tylenol and drink a hot cup of coffee and that usually takes care of it.  I also see my chiropractor once every two weeks, he is a magician :)  He adjusts my neck and that helps too, HTH.
  • I just got through a rough 36 hours of being in bed with a horrible migraine (throwing up too). My doctor gave me a few medications (one was Vicodin, which surprisingly is "safe" during pregnancy and Zofran for nausea).

But honestly, they didn't really help that much?! I just had to sleep it off.. caffeine definitely helped, as well as cold compress on the head. I hope you feel better soon! I totally empathize with your pain.

  • I have a bad headache right now, but not a migraine. I really really feel for you ladies because I know what's it like. My next appt. is on the 7th and I plan on speaking to my doctor about them. I hope yours goes away right away and I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Sad

  • I've had a migraine since Thursday too. It is miserable. My neck also hurts. It starts out ok in the morning, but by midday bam.  And, there is nothing I can really do but lay down in a dark room. I think it is because I am not eating enough with the m/s but who knows. Unfortunately, I get vestibular migraines...so they are very visual...which is not working with the nausea right now.

  • I've also had a migraine since Thursday. It was really concentrated on the left side of my face too. :( My left eye has been killing me and my neck was killing me. Tylenol is completely worthless. Oddly enough, I felt a little better after vomiting which also meant nothing in my stomach and that only made things worse. I spent this morning with an ice pack on my face and took a nice nap. Hopefully this one is gone by Monday.
