growth spurts between 12 and 24 months?

Did your kids go through any major growth spurts between 1 and 2 years old?

My girls are down from the 70th to the 40th percentile for height and weight, which surprises me a little considering we come from a TALL family.  The shortest person on either side is MIL at 5'9".  I am 5'11" and MH is 6'6", so I know the girls will be tall.  I am just hoping they don't shoot up too quickly since I just bought them spring clothes in the size they are starting to fit in now (12-18).  Wink  They were in 6-12 for over 6 months!

Wondering if you can recall any huge growth spurts after a year old.

    We always go for our ped visits a few weeks after the designated time... just got off sched and you know how insurance companies are.  Anyway at just past 15mos they were both just about 30", and 3mos later they were 33".  I could not believe 3" in 3mos!  They are 95th for height.  Audrey is 50th for weight, and Vivi is 95th for weight. 

    Audrey does better in 2T for pants if it's a slim fit, and Vivi does mostly 2T if it's a generous cut.  Got some new leggings from Children's Place in 3T for Vivi and they fit Tongue Tied

    DH and I are both 5'9".

    My kids had a lot of height growth from 15 to 18 months, their weight has definitely slowed down. DS stays around 50% for height while DD is around 95% however .5" is what separates them. I know at 12 months, DD was pushing into 18 month clothes and she stayed in those for 3 months maybe, she has spent more time in the 24 month and 2T clothes than I think any other size. DH's family is tall, he's 6'1" and while the men in my family are tall, the women are short, I rock the 5'2", lol. 

    I have no idea where DD gets her height because its not from me, I've been the same height since 7th grade.

    Yes, I have a son who just made 24 months and all his friends are the same age.

    Three months ago all his friends were his exact same height, one even slightly taller. In just 2 months he has passed them.

    12 months: 32 1/4 inches tall and 29lbs

    18 months: 34 1/2 inches tall and 30lbs (he stayed this height until about 22 months but weight was gradual)

    24 months: 37 1/8 inches tall and 31 1/2 lbs

    So nearly a 3 inch spurt from 22-24 months. He is a monster compared to kids his age.

    I am 5' 5". But the average female in my family is just at or under 5'. The average male in my family is 5' 9".

    My partner is 5' 9". But the average female in his family is about 5' 4". The average male is at 6' 2" and his uncles are even 6' 4" and 6' 7".

    So... This will make for a very interesting experiment in how tall our children will be. I honestly feel our son is going to be about 6'. Any daughters will probably be around my height.
