I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about Weed and we were saying how Canada is way more liberal about it than the States. Just wondering what everyone here thinks about it.
It should be legal. It is less harmful than alcohol; I have never heard of anyone dying from marijuana poisoning. It doesn't cause as many crimes to be committed as alcohol. It can be emotionally addictive. Its boring and kills the motivation in many people. It puts me to sleep.
I don't really care about weed... do it if you want, doesn't bother me. I'm not uptight about it. Almost everyone I know has tried it at least once, if not smoked regularly at one point in their life, except me. I personally think its NBD, like PP said, I've also never heard of someone dying from marijuana poisoning.

Weed in its smoked form poses the same risks to your health as smoking, so I feel the same way about it when done frequently -- seems dumb to endanger your body for something like that.
As far as other forms, I couldn't care less what you do as long as you don't drive impaired or get violent. There are enough drunks that do that anyway.
nicely said ladies! I really expected it to go the other way for some reason...I know my personal opinion is the same as above, I used to smoke all the time before I was prego & really that was the main reason for my quitting & haven't since & I honestly think thats why I get panic attacks now...just used to mellow me out...I wasn't a slacker on it though would actually focus more & get things done....but as with all things of the illegal manner just not worth losing my kid over it! so here i am all uptight & stressed seeing a councelor for the panic attacks...
i have nothing against others doing it except the smell makes my tummy ache.
Same here. I HATE the smell of weed. One of my neighbors smokes it, I can smell it outside. Since I live on a corner I don't know which one it is, but I'm pretty sure I know who it is. DH can't smell it but it instantly makes my stomach turn.

Yup. I've never done it, but know plenty of people who have. I say legalize it and tax it. Arresting people for it is just clogging up the jails and costing us all more money...
I think it should be treated the same as booze. Sell it in stores, tax it, arrest people for driving under the influence of it, have a minimum age to smoke it, etc.

Born and raised in Canada I don't feel it's a drug but more of a type of therpy for those that indulge.
I indulged in my teenage years a couple times and it wasn't for me but I I have seen the good and bad of it over the years.
I think it should be legalized as a therapy equal to prescription drugs.
