And no, I don't want to hear about the jewelry you expect your H to get you as a gift for carrying his child for 9 months. That is something you do together, and if you expect him to buy you something for that, this is not the thread for you.
What I mean, is what do you want most for yourself after LO is born? Is it a big huge piece of chocolate cake because you had GD and couldn't have it before? Is it a 6-pack of Sam Adams? Or, will your H take one of the nightly feedings so you can get some zzzzz's?
Let's hear it ladies!
Re: Let's talk 'Push' Presents
I'll start...
I am going to go to a local winery and get a bottle of their blackberry wine. It is to die for!
ETA: I'm going to drink it too!
Clothes shopping!!! I cant wait to fit in regular clothes again. Im at that point where my maternity clothes dont even want to cover my bump anymore and its quite frustrating.
I don't expect my husband to get me any type of present.
BUT I will be turning 21 around the time lil girl is due so I hope I can get a Pina Colada after I pop her out!
I want to get cross-eyed on frozen margaritas at our favorite Mexican place.
It's not just about the margaritas, it's about the food. I used to LOVE Mexican food, and it's one of the only things that I had an aversion to throughout this entire pregnancy. The last time we went to this place, it was a combo birthday party for DH and my cousin. My parents were there, my cousin's parents were there, and we all got tipsy and had SO MUCH FUN. I need a nice, loose evening like that again! DH's gift to me can be to drive my ass home and get up with the baby that night.
Margarita Baby!! As for drinking while nursing, you can totally do it. Check out the La Leche league website for more details. I'm not saying go and get plastered but if you drink a glass of wine or beer or a cocktail while breastfeeding it will cycle out of your milk before the next feeding. Your body will actually filter out the alcohol out of your breastmilk before your blood (crazy huh!) The rule is if you can drive you can feed. If it will make you feel any better you can buy Milksense from Target or BRU and it will allow you to do a litmus test on your breastmilk to determine alcohol content. Furthermore my OB and lactation consultant said she would drink while breastfeeding no harm done and no studies that show harm was done not a one with any credibility. My lactation consultant says that this is just another one of those crazy rules that discourage mom's from bfing unnecessarily.
ETA sorry I meant nursing not pregnant before the flaming begins on that topic.
I said the same thing! 12 months later I'm looking at a BFP. You don't forget the misery you just realize having an LO is just so worth it all.

1. All I can eat sushi - we're talking quantity not quality. No maki rolls just the fish and rice with a lot of fish roe.
2. At least one bottle of the beer DH found about 6 months ago that he can't stop talking about. (might have to wait a little while more for this - hoping to breast feed)
3. Peanut butter snickers and coffee toffee twisted frostee from Wendy's (stupid GD)
Oh this is ME!!!! I can't wait for sushi and wine! My husband jokes that he is going to bring both to the postpartum recovery room for me!
An obscenely large sub sandwich from a real sub shop - not some fake Blimpie or Subway thing. I'll wash it down with an icy cold coke - but I want the soda to look like it does in the commercials with the drippings down the side of the glass.
When I get out of the hospital I want another sub but this time I'm washing it down with an icy cold Corona.
I think the thing I want most is a bottle of white zin. Oh how I miss wine.
And of course, all the help from DH that's possible!
THIS!!! Gina - I'm in Westchester too - where is your favorite sushi place? We love Sushi Mike's in Dobbs Ferry or Haiku in White Plains or Mamaroneck.
I already told DH he best bring me a bottle of wine in the recovery room because, no I'm not an alcoholic, I just *really* miss me some good wine!!
I also want a massage.
This, but the tuna roll sushi will merely be an appetizer to my gorgonzola -covered rare burger.
If it's a dark beer, half a glass could HELP your milk supply come in. My mother force-fed (well, not a lot of forcing- it was yummy!) me a half-glass of dark beer for that reason, and I had a great over-supply/freezer stash. Yes, I'm a one-person statistically-representitive example.
All of those things sound great to me!! I'm most looking forward to having sushi and a lychee martini! I already have a bottle of my favorite wine chilling in our wine fridge.

Guinness was my go-to fix when I needed to boost my supply. 1 every night after dinner did the job!

To breathe normally and walk without a limp.
As far as actual ITEMS...Oh I want a bottle of Shiraz. I am tired of going to bed and waking up feeling like I have had too much wine WITHOUT the wine. And a giant steak (it makes me sick right now). And a carton of ice cream just to top it off (of course I am doing that anyway-haha).
I've been thinking about this for a long time...
A large medium rare steak, baked potato with all the butter, sour cream and bacon I want, and a caesar salad. A large margarita to go with. Then, I would like to lay in bed and sleep on my back and/or stomach all night without having to get up and pee.
I'm ready for my due date more than ever right now.
Adventures with Amelia
This! So much!
I have been craving a top shelf margarita since November, so I think I will definitely be getting one of those some time after LO is here. Our local art and wine festival is the first week in June and I will be doing a pump and dump that day so I can enjoy the three glasses of wine we get with the purchase of the glass.
I also hope that DH will let me sleep in once in a while on the weekend and take care of LO's feedings but that might just be a dream.
