Oh my heavens, if I tried to do ANY of the things they are doing to Sami Jo (spray tanning, trying on dozens of outfits, duct taping dresses to her body) to my daughter at 15 months old, I would have been met with tantrum upon tantrum.
And quite frankly, I am more than ok with that.
Seriously, why would you do any of that to a tiny toddler?? If my daughter had that kind of super-easygoing personality I would bask in it...not take advantage of it in such an obnoxious way. I know this show has had far worse examples, but for some reason, this little girl really struck me tonight.
Re: Anyone else watching Toddlers and Tiaras right now?
I once had a student's mom get upset and yell at her daughter when she told me (her dance teacher) that she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up. The correct answer was, apparently, "Miss America." DH can't even watch the commercials for that show. I'm not sure of details, just that he had an abuse case that makes it hit too close to home.
Confession: I actually watch this show every week because it gives me the chance to get a self-righteousness high in the privacy of my own home.
::Goes to hang head in shame. But will still watch the season finale tonight.::
They do it for the scholarship money - duh! Cuz they get sooooo much more money than they ever spend on dresses, make up, training, outfits, travel, and other expenses.
That show baffles me. However, it's even more addictive than a train wreck.
I feel sick at what those parents put on there daughters! Two piece mini-skirt sparkle dress......looks like clothes you would see a stripper dressing in. (And I should know my husband used to be a cook at a strip club, so when I would pick him up from work I would see many of these women)
Also there was one girl on some meds, the mom was complaining she was to wild. She is five thou right???? Sorry she didnt want to stand still for a freaking spray tan or take the hour plus to put on makeup. She is five let her be a kid. Argh its a love/hate with that show.
