Names You Would Never Use

What names would you never use, even if your life depended on it?

Re: Names You Would Never Use

  • Crystal and Brenda.

  • Wyatt, anything that ends in -aden or has an extraneous letter, something that has a weird (to me) noun connotation like Blaze, Briar or Wren. Most surnames and almost all occupational names.

  • Chad, Todd, Roger, Adolf, Dwayne, Destiny, Crystal, Chelsea, Leslie, Brittany (among many, many others).

I didn't include the obvious Nevaeh, Jayden, Zayden, etc. because to do so would be to acknowledge that they are names.

  • Neveh, Chris, L-ah (if that is even a name!), and those names with crazy x....like Jaxon.

  • Names like Edith, Ethel, Mabel, Harriet, Maude, Hazel -- you get the idea.

Also I'm not into trendy names like Madison, Taylor, etc.

  • Girls: Kelsey, Caitlin, Madison, Paige, Claire

    Boys: Mason, RYDER, Grayson, Brycen

ETA: Isn't Nevaeh a given, people?

  • Jax, axel, McAnything.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Beula, Birtha,Martha, Doris... Ok all really old lady names, yes some are coming back in style and I do like some, but others should stay gone.

Jackson (or any other spelling), Camden, Ryker, Oscar, Filix... So uber trendy or very old man.

  • There are so many to choose from:

Tiffany, Shannon, Jessica, Brenda, Deborah, Neveah, Skylar, Baily, Taylor, anything made up

Grayson, Landon, Cooper, Trevor, Douglas, Richard, Steven, Devon, Dillon, Cody

  • There are a lot of names out that I love or strongly admire, but wouldn't use simply because they sound too WASPy for me to use on a half-Hispanic, half-Jewish child. But for the "my life depending on it" part, I guess I would say absolutely anything spelled uneek-ly.

  • I have tons because I'm a teacher but the ones that come to mind first are:

    Crystal, Charity, and Destiny

  • Regina (gina)  ewwwwww.

    Or Crystal. yuck.

    Debbie, Deborah. bleh!

  • Belinda. IMO, this is one of the original made-up names (but I could be wrong). Also, I've met 3 Belindas IRL and all 3 of them were terrible people.

  • A few that are popular here that come to mind: Scarlett, Amelia, Evelyn, Violet, Quinn, Harper, Piper. Almost every unisex name. Every time I see the name James on a girl I want to toss my cookies.

For boys I can't stand Max(well), Dominic, Donovan, Damien, Devon. All of the boys I've ever known with these names have been holy terrors.
