Wives Tale about How You Carry Boy Vs. Girl...

What do "they" say about how you carry boys vs. girls? The wife of a colleague of DH's is due the same day as I am. She's having a girl and I am having a boy. My DH (lovingly, I hope) says I am HUGE compared to her. She probably is a little taller and broader so I think that makes a difference, but I'm trying to remember if the old wives tale is true in this instance.

    I'm not sure of the wive's tale, but Claire is growing out of my a$$, too.  My bff was the same way with both of her girls.

    My mom swears by this... she says it all depends on your face and how you're carrying.  If your face changes and you are carrying all over it is a girl.  If your face doesnt change and you are just carrying in front then it is a boy.  She is always right... so much so that her co-worker just had a baby and my mom has sworn that it was a girl the whole time so when it ended up being a girl I was not surprised, I think I would have been shocked if it was a boy!

    Supposedly you carry girls everywhere (and they "steal your looks"), but you carry boys in front only.  I pretty much just have a basketball belly (I still wear pre-pg jeans), and I'm having a girl, so who knows!

    The easy way is: baby is a basketball right in front than boy... spread out: girl.  This was THE ONLY wives tale we had be true.

    I carried ALL out front and VERY low.....I had 2 girls!

    I heard that boys were high and girls were low. But I'm very low and carrying a boy.

    But the basketball one seems to fit me and I'm having a boy. 

    Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!     Hmm...  I'm still carrying ridiculously high, and I'm having a girl.  I hope my two dreams (that I find out when I give birth that she is really a BOY) aren't true!

    I always heard that if you can't tell from behind you're pregnant it's a boy, but if you can then it's probably a girl.  It was true for me although if you saw me trying to squeeze into pre-preg jeans (still!) you wouldn't believe me.  :-)

    I've heard that boys are carried lower and your stomach will look more pointed from the side. Girls are carried more round and higher
