If your lower back hurts, come in on...

My chiropractor showed my DH yesterday something to help with this. Kneel down and rest your arms on the couch or something at that level. Then have DH press into the "dimples" of your lower back. (It's not where the pain is. I kept having DH rub where the pain was. This is higher.) As soon as he presses into your back, you feel instant relief! (BTW, he should press pretty hard.)

  • Thanks for the tip!  I'll try it out tonight!  DH bought me a hand held "ergonomic" massager so I can help myself when he isn't home, but it works better for my leg aches, so my back really needs some relief.

  • Oh my gosh, I am totally going to try this. I will try anything because I have had bad back pain even before baby came into the mix. Now I have been diagnosed with sciatica too. No fun.

Another suggestion if you have not heard it already...sit in a chair and place one leg across the other (resting the ankle of one leg on top of the knee of the other leg). Gently bend forward. If you feel stretching in your thigh, you're doing it right. It really helps with the pain!
