Bottle Weaning ???

Currently DS gets three bottles a day. Morning, nap and night. Which one would you recommend taking away first. I am thinking nap, but I am open to suggestions and experiences.

  • DS still takes 2 naps a day so we got rid of the afternoon bottle before nap first.  He still gets a morning bottle and bottle before bed.

  • Whichever one he seems less attached too.  I took their daytime ones first then the bedtime one last.

  • My son took 3 bottles a day too..but I just started giving him a sippy cup for all three times..and now I do whole milk right when he wakes up, before lunch, and at dinner.  I put him in the highchair so that he can feed himself.  It took him a while to learn the sippy...like 4 months but he finally has it down!

  • He drinks his sippy just fine, this is total comfort thing I think.

  • I would start with taking the afternoon bottle away.  My DD just started having sippys at daycare around 7 months and then just had her morning/nighttime bottle at home.  After she turned a year I stopped the morning/nighttime bottles cold turkey and she did great!  We just give her a sippy with milk and breakfast first thing in the morning. Then nighttime we did books and a bath, then she goes right down.  Honestly, I was suprised how easily she transitioned.  Good luck!!
