So, I'm laying on the couch right now in my normal "computer position", laptop on my tummy. And of course it just now dawned on me, Am I cooking my baby's brainwaves??!!?? Anyone else have this habit? Is it bad?
(for the record, I now have a pillow under the offensive laptop...)
Re: Laptop on Tummy?
I think someone actually posted a link about this somewhere at some point. The general consensus was basically it's probably not a good idea, but there's nothing that shows it does any damage. Just not a good habit since they can get downright hot.
We have one of those laptop pads that dissipates the heat and it really does work. Maybe you should look into one of those.
I keep my laptop on my legs. My main concern is the pressure, since when I lay far enough down the edge rests on my not-a-bump-yet lol.
Your baby is pretty protected in there. I wouldn't worry about the pressure from the weight of a laptop.
There is some concern about radiation or emf waves or something like that from laptops and cell phones. I remember reading about it, and I do wonder if it's going to be one of those things we find out in 20 years causes problems. But I try not to worry about it too much.
Oh okay. Gotcha. Yeah, if that's the case I'm screwed.
Sorry to be confusing! No my phone does not get hot, lol. Just worried about radiation. I read that you should not sleep with your cell phone next to your bed right near your head... I don't think there is anything conclusive on this though.
Here's a short article that talks about it a little: https://www.prevention.com/health/health/natural-remedies/cell-phone-safety-and-news/article/7aa2312bcbee9110VgnVCM20000012281eac____
