As a yoga instructor, I was taught to have pregnant women avoid deep abdominal work as soon as they conceive. As I understood my teacher's intent, the concern with abs early on is around miscarriage (in our practice, we typically do really deep abdominal work).
As a pregnant yoga practictioner, I didn't have trouble with ab work (e.g., I did regular situps through the first tri). I just took things easy and didn't work as deeply as I typically would in my practice.
I agree about telling your instructor... but also note if they really have training or experience working with pregnant women. If you can find someone early on to work with, you can learn a lot about how to adapt as things change.
Definitely no inversions, they can affect your blood pressure. That said, I pretty much let my body tell me when to stop doing certain things, and that worked fine for me.
Re: Yoga while Prego
Talk to your instructor.
