I'm having the same issue as I did last night... sit down to pee, and when I think I'm done, I just keep peeing. When I get up there's no leakage, but every single time i sneeze, cough, or even shift my weight, there's definitely a good amount of fluid that comes out. Now we all have those times when we pee ourselves, but this has been going on steadily for the past 24 hrs. I know you all suggested I smell it, but I'll be honest, I'm completely congested and can't smell a damn thing.
Anyway, when I called the doc's line to just ask what they thought, the on-call doc basically said, "Sounds like a bladder issue, but you can come in if you want."
Normally I would have no problem going in and getting it double-checked, but this particular doctor is a raging bytch. She's a younger doc, very cocky, has the worst bedside manner, and makes you feel like a moron for asking any questions at all.
OK so my question is... would you go in and get checked out anyway, or wait until tomorrow morning after the shift-change and one of the other docs is there?
Re: Really dislike the on-call doc... WWYD?
Yeah that's kinda what I'm leaning toward... It doesn't help that I'm dealing with elevated BP and herniated disc issues...
There is no L&D triage. Anyone who goes to the ER with pregnancy-related issues gets sent straight up to L&D and you're seen by the on-call doc from your practice, or the hospitalist.
I'd just suck it up and go in. I'd rather deal with a witchy lady for a little bit then spend another night worrying about it.
I don't know if it's different for a leak, rather than your water full on breaking, but I was always told with my first pregnancy that once your water breaks, don't stay at home because of risk of infection. I would think it would be the same for a leak, but not sure.
I use Poise pads, but I'm not soaking them. If I were just using a pantyliner I would be.
You could have a slow leak of water and if that is the case and it's been 24 hours already, you should get checked. I'd just go to the ER and see if someone else can check you.
Ugh. That stinks. I would still go in. It sounds like it could very well be that your water has broken if you are continually leaking.
