Ergo infant support

I was wondering if the Ergo infant support is necessary or if there are anything else I can try before I buy it....

    You can roll up a receiving blanket and use it like their older style infant insert (they have instructions on how the old one works on their website). We used a H2H and it was worth it for us because DS was tiny but if he were bigger, I can see that it would have been short lived.
